[Video 01, Action 02] Somewhere Out There, Someone Knows

Jan 21, 2012 17:59

[Kirk works hard into the night despite his promise to Bones to sleep, and soon, he thinks he understands. He believes the video is locked to only those who are alien to the town, those like himself, Bones, Flynn, and the others he's met in such a short time. He's never one to take anything lying down, including his own capture and more importantly ( Read more... )

[This isn't something she wants to do, even if it's necessary. She wants to forget about certain aspects of her time here, and this is going to bring up many of those memories. But she has to do it.

So she dresses carefully in her Starfleet uniform, heads for the coffee shop and forces herself to order black coffee instead of her usual comfort drink staple of hot chocolate before sitting down across from Jim.]

I've documented everything I could about this place and the beings runing it. I've seen people try to get over the wall and the results. I've talked to our captors over the watches and... [Her expression is carefully neutral, but there's a lost, haunted look in her eyes as she continues.] And I was their guest for a time.

[Sighing, she takes a drink of her coffee, trying to find the right words. It would have been easier if they'd started with something else, but she isn't going to shy away from the subject. Slipping into her Yeoman Rand persona, she reminds herself that it wasn't her fault and that the past couldn't hurt her unless she allowed it.]

Yes. During one of the sieges, I became a nuisance or a curiosity to one of our captors. He decided I needed some time away during the battles so he abducted me. He tried to teach me my proper place here. I was returned three days later.

Count me in, Jim.

Also, ah. Heh. I may have a Plus One to the party.

We'll be there in a bit. We've had to find her a pair of shoes and a coat so she doesn't freeze first. [Flynn sounds a bit dry, but not at all irritated, when the voice feed shuts off. He didn't have a problem adding shoe "shopping" to his list of things to do, though finding a place was important.

It takes a few hours, but eventually, Flynn does arrive at the coffee shop, hand in hand with Rapunzel. They had managed to find her a decent pair of shoes and a jacket (with some helpful larceny from the resident thief)]

[There's a voice in the background of that's saying it feels like her feet are gonna suffocate. That's what happens when you don't wear shoes for eighteen years.

And she'll be skipping along at Flynn's side when they get there. First thing she does when she deems it warm enough inside is kick off her shoes. Then she yanks her hair all the way in.]

[Austria regards this young man for a moment, considering. He seems a strong, reliable sort, and his consideration for all those captive in this city sparked the nation's interest. Military men, he knew how to handle, being that he was, at times, one himself. Finally, he nods]

I will meet you at the Coffee Shop this evening, if I can locate it, Captain. I have had the dubious privilege of speaking with a young lady I feel may either be one of our captors, but barring that, affiliated with them.

I'll be waiting for you. [Kirk does his best to memorize the face he sees framed by the watch.]

(ooc: Feel free to come in right in this thread.)

[A few hours later, Austria steps into the coffee ship, bundled up in a long wool coat and a grey scarf. He looks rather dignified, and looks around for the good Captain. When he spots him, he steps up to him and elegantly extends a hand]

Captain James Kirk. Good to meet you; I am Roderich Edelstein.

[Lukas has only a bit to add to the subject.] I remember some jerk got on the phone after the whole prehistoric thing with a sort of "Dance, my puppets!" attitude. Dunno if he's in charge but he definitely wasn't someone I saw around the city regularly.

Well, I'll be at your shop tomorrow if you don't mind me hogging a table. I want to know everything you can remember about this guy.

Okay! I'll try, but it was awhile ago now. Back in the summer.
