[Kirk works hard into the night despite his promise to Bones to sleep, and soon, he thinks he understands. He believes the video is locked to only those who are alien to the town, those like himself, Bones, Flynn, and the others he's met in such a short time. He's never one to take anything lying down, including his own capture and more importantly

[Kirk stands when he, in turn, spots the man he remembered from his video. He takes the extended hand and gives it a firm handshake. The accent was curious, surprisingly thick considering the man spoke Standard. The name equally seemed from Earth. He knows about people being plucked from time as much as space, so for now, he decides this must be someone from Earth's past.]
And you. Have a seat. [He gestures to the other few chairs at the table he's taken over for the day.]

I am glad to see that there are others who are wanting to get to the bottom of this. I have been preoccupied with many tasks as of late, but I am eager to return to my home just like the others.
As I said before, a woman corresponded with me on the Network a few weeks ago, and the conversation was quite interesting.
[[OOC: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ilb7VvGx1Is This is his accent. A Viennese accent! ]]

Anything you can tell me about her, Mister Edelstein, I'd be grateful. The more knowledge we have, the better our chances, so anything is worth looking into.
[Kirk leans forward, his gaze focused.] I will say this... if what I'm hearing is true, returning people to the when and where they came from might be difficult, maybe even impossible, but I'll find us a way out of here. I'd rather not be on my ship and free than someone's captive.

[Austria sat back and considered his memories for a moment]
She indicated that she did indeed know who our captors were, and what their motivations were. But she did not elaborate, which surprised me little. However, I found much to my surprise that the next day, much of the theatre's renovations had already been done, far greater than what any of us could have done in a day's time. And she had left me a note thanking me for my 'performance' on the Network.

[Kirk's brows steadily rise as Austria speaks, intently focused on his words. That does sound a whole lot like one of their possible captors, and it indicates several disturbing things.] You only spoke to her, but didn't get to see her face?
[Also, Kirk notes down in the back of his mind that either he had been given a false identity, or an alternate one.]

[Austria does not mean to deceive Kirk by using his human name; it is simply how he introduces himself to those who are unaware of the existence of nations as people, and a sort of personal protection.]

[Kirk's been trained in how to deal with being captive, and right now he's taking in everything he can. Hearing what Austria really is would have been... well, something.]
D.B... have you seen her in any other situation? Any other time or place? [Kirk taps a finger on the edge of the table, thinking it over.] She wanted you to be intimidated, but not entirely as she enjoyed your performance enough to help you out.

[Austria also considers this for a moment, frowning]
She did not mean my musical performance, but rather, the 'performance' I gave during our interactions on the Network. She acts as though we are all just performers on a stage laid out by our captors.

[Musical performance? So Edelstein was a musician of some kind. Kirk had only been echoing the other man's term.] These are sick people, or whatever they are. The kind who get off on power. That's part of why we need to gather as much information as we can because knowledge is power, too.
[Kirk thought it over, then asked,] Are you any kind of artist? Could you draw what she looks like?
Reply
[He considers his question for a moment, then nods] I am not the most skilled artist; my friend Feliciano is the painter and sculptor, but yes, I could draw you a picture of her as I recall her in my mind.

Sometimes you have to handle the situation in your own way. [No reason to be ashamed. However the people captive in Ruby City had been handling the situation, Kirk could respect that.]
He got up and went to bother Lukas for some paper and a pen, returning and putting it in front of Edelstein.] Do your best, then underneath write anything you can remember.

Thank you, Captain. [He regards the paper in thought for a moment; he was a fair enough artist, but hardly at the caliber of either of the Italy brothers. It was art he could appraise, and music he could produce. Still, after a moment of recollection, his deft hands began to sketch lightly, eventually forming the general outline of a beautiful woman with a somewhat lofty expression, and arrogant, piercing eyes. Long dark hair and arched, manicured eyebrows; generally what one would call a very attractive young woman. Underneath, he wrote in his elegant script the things he'd just told the good captain about the elusive Miss D.B., and anything else of note. He regards it for a moment, then hands it over]
I am sorry that it is only subpar, Captain.

[As Edelstein drew, Kirk watched closely. He might not have considered himself an artist, but Kirk thought Edelstein seemed better than most. He stayed silent until the other was finished, then took the sketch and studied it not upside down.]
Subpar? I'm lucky to manage a stick figure; this is better than subpar. It gives us something to work on for sure. [Kirk put the paper down, noting the beautiful handwriting that seemed almost out of place. It was rare to find something similar to compare it to in his day and age.]
Have you tried to escape it any way? [His voice was softer, almost concerned about being over heard. Almost.]

Thus far, I've yet to uncover anything; information on this place is sorely lacking, even at the library. [Austria does not speak quietly; he has a sort of imperial air about him as if he hardly cares if any omnipotent beings overhear him speaking]

[Edelstein has a point, Kirk thought to himself. What kind of prison are they in?] Bones, on my first night here, told me that you can follow the train out but you'll end up in a park filled with monsters clear on the other side of town. I can't think that this place is actually a part of any one specific planet - world, as Flynn calls it - unless we're all sharing the same delusion or otherwise forced mental imagery. A dimension all to itself.
I don't think they'll let us have any information about this place as convenient as a book, specially after hearing about a few of these captors of ours. I think anything we learn is going to come from their mouth, which is why I'm interested in talking to people like you face to face.

I only wish that I could tell you more, Captain.
