[Elena's sitting back at her desk, a few files spread out in front of her. She would have ignored the message - there was always so much work to do - but the little assistant looks a little....cute. And helpful.]

That's quite an interesting little creation you've made. [It could almost, with some tweaking, be made into one of Scarlet's old Slashers.] Can it do anything besides fetching things?

He's very clever...exceeded my own expectations recently, actually, as he got someone to help him do something he couldn't by himself.

I can make more specialised ones if you had something in mind?

I'm already making a set of clanks for ShinRa if that's what you're after. That redheaded friend of yours doesn't think I can. [[Yes, Reno pinged her arrogance and manipulated her right into doing work for ShinRa for free.]]

Specialized, hmmm? [Why yes, the idea of having one of those little things to help her with her files and reports would be nice. Maybe a pair that could code and decode messages. But she was still a little suspicious of Theta and couldn't guarantee that whatever little assistant she took in would be used against her.] I can't think of anything just yet, but if I do I'll be sure to check with you and see if its possible.

[A short pause later.]

I'm not exactly after anything at the moment, just curious about your machines. And you may need to be a bit more descriptive about which of my red-headed friends you're talking about, too. I'm afraid I'm not sure which of the pair you're talking about. [Because, you see, Elena can think of two people who fit that description and both of which would probably have the same thoughts.]

I realise it's an unknown field for most of you, but I am the best ergaleomancer of my generation. I can make whatever I please. [[She's smug, but it's not simply idle bragging. She does have quite a bit of skill to back that up with.]]

And it was the one with marks under his eyes. [[She doesn't realise that's not helpful, but thankfully she's feeling dramatic and so she reaches up to draw a stripe under her eye--Reno's eye markings, not Axel's.]]

And my teapots, they're quite common back home, but apparently they're unusual to most people here.

[[She points the camera down at her teacup and taps it, and a teapot on legs comes ambling over. It fills her cup, then pops out a secondary spout to add milk, which it stirs in before wandering off again.]]

[[Theta looks up, and her expression is concerned when she sees him looking ruffled. Even if only a little bit.]]

Equius, good to see you. How have you been?

Fine. [He shuffles his feet, looking up at her guiltily] My glasses were broken in a scuffle. If it's not too much trouble, I was hoping you would have suitable replacements on hand.

And I wish to extend an apology. The events of the weekend had kept me occupied, and though I was concerned, I did not come looking for you. I have been very irresponsible.

[[She blinks in surprise, her whole face betraying how stunned she is for a moment.]]

Oh, I'm hardly your responsibility, Equius, though I'm touched at the sentiment. I was stuck in the catacombs...was the weekend eventful?

[[She talks to him as she moves, getting up and heading to the back to see what she can do about glasses for him.]]

And tell me what you need in glasses...is it just the darkness of them, or are they a specific prescription?

[He's going to take his time first to gather his thoughts after their most recent 'bonding' - he's still a little flustered and embarassed. He's got all poise back as he returns, hesitantly smiling.]

I'm sorry I took so long to rejoin you. I simply had to... clear things up... clear my head. But I wanted to check on the progress of our couple arrangements...

[He's referring to the room, yes - but mostly his own requested treat~]

[[Theta looks up from her notebook and smiles cheerily.]]

Mr. Kirkland! I'm glad to see you again. Yes, Grell took care of the door for us, so everything's in order. Fetch-It, mind the store.

[[The little watch salutes and sits on the edge of the counter, facing the door so it can greet customers as they come in, while Theta turns and heads for the back workshop.]]

Come on, I'll show you to your room, and then I've got scones and jam and cream in the kitchen~. Fetch-It even surprised me...he can't talk, as you've seen, and yet he managed to ask someone for help and brought back several jars full.

[[In the back room, there's a set of stairs, leading up to the flat above, and she starts limping up them, still shy of putting her full weight on her false leg.]]

[he happily perks up at that, barely noticeable past a brightened expression in his eyes.]

That's wonderful! I'll have the little chap show me the way to where he got it, then... restock when I need to.

[at seeing her struggle, he does at least politely offer his arm.]

[[She's very uncertain about that arm. She's too used to struggling through things herself, but after a moment's hesitation, she puts her arm through his. She leans heavily on him when it's her bad leg down, and uses him for balance even when on her good leg.]]

Yes, I meant to ask him to tell me where he got it, but I've been otherwise occupied. I'm still working on an order for ShinRa, my line of assistants, not to mention making a cooking clockwork. I...can hardly cook at all, so it's mostly things that can be reheated here. [[And even those she frequently burns.]]
