Goro had seen the announcement, and while he had only heard of St. Patrick's Day in passing and knew it had something to do with Ireland, he didn't feel like passing up the chance to hang out with people. So leaving Toge at home and making sure he had fresh water and food, Goro had headed to the bar. Stepping inside and looking around, Goro took in everything before he noticed Jayne behind the bar.

Smiling and waving, he called, "Hey!"

"Hey Goro!" Jayne chirped as Goro walked in. Noticing that the teen wasn't wearing any green, he grinned and leaned against the counter, waving him over. "C'mere a second, I got something for ya."

Walking over to the counter, Goro blinked at the face paint Jayne was sporting. "What is it?" Come to think of it, there was a lot of green around. Trying to remember if the holiday had anything to do with green, and failing, Goro looked back to Jayne.

Leaning over the counter, Jayne reached out to pinch Goro's cheek. He didn't understand why, exactly, but Canada had assured him that anyone not wearing green needed to be pinched. And besides, if Goro would let him, he'd follow it up with a kiss.

Anko had never heard of St.Patrick's day. She didn't understand the green or the odd shamrocks that seemed to cover every inch of them place. Nor did she understand why the beer was green, beer was good when it was its usual colour... not green.

So showing up at the Black Stallion she'd done a double take and nearly turned around and went home. Obviously it was important to most of the people here... but to be honest it really freaked her out.

Giving a green shamrock on a flag a poke she looked around the bar.

"Can someone explain to me what the hell is going on? And why everything is green?"

"'Cause it's Saint Patrick's Day!" came a loud voice from behind her, clearly enthused about this. The voice was attached to a tall, lanky nation in a green jersey. "Which means shamrocks and paintin' the town green and lovely songs about the Emerald Isle, so we know where we came from."

"Saint who's day?" she asked staring rather blankly at him. "That jersey does your frame no justice for such a nice looking young man." she smiled a bit, still confused as hell as to what this day was. So far he'd told her more or less nothing about the day.

"Is this a national celebration? Because I've never celebrated it... ever."

Canada crossed his arms over his chest, taking more insult than compliment from... everything she said, actually. Even though he was sure there was a compliment in there somewhere.

"Where are you from that they don't celebrate Saint Pat's?" he asked, sounding displeased at the concept.

St. Patrick's day was one of those odd holidays that had been picked up aboard the ship. Not surprising since it was an excuse to indulge in that alcohol that everyone pretended didn't exist on the ship. Plus, tonight it meant she could dress up in one of those colors she had been considering and see what kind of reactions it got her.

And after her earlier announcement that she wanted to have fun, it wasn't surprising that she'd eventually show up at the Black Stallion, dressed in that promised short skirt in a vivid shade of green and looking for a certain bartender. Leaning against the polished wood, she grinned. "Hey, Jayne. Love the new look."

Blushing a bit, Jayne ducks his head shyly and grins. "Thanks, Jan. Canada insisted. Said to pinch anyone not wearin' green. And... You look good too."

Too good, really. That tiny little skirt was stirring up all sorts of thoughts that didn't belong in his head. Jan was his friend - he ought to respect her enough to not be imagining her without her clothes on.

Jan noticed that little hesitation and it was as flattering as the compliment. And Jayne acting shy? That was cute and kinda hot. Not that she hadn't thought he was hot before, but now she really couldn't not think about it.

"Thank you. You're probably not Irish, but..." Leaning farther across the bar, she kissed his cheek. "Some traditions can be altered a bit."

He couldn't do anything but splutter in response to the kiss, and oh god, the blushing. It took over his face, spreading down his neck and up to the tips of his ears.

And where there is booze and socialising, Theta isn't far behind. Though she leans heavily on her cane once again, she limps into the bar and settles on a stool.

"Evening, Theta," Jayne smiled, moving down bar towards her. He grabbed a bottle of Port as he walked, pouring her a glass once he stood before her. "Come to join the festivities, I take it?"

Valentine's may finally come home to roost... ergaleomancer March 18 2011, 05:26:17 UTC
"Of course~," she answered, taking the glass gratefully and sipping at the red liquid appreciatively. Then, after a moment's thought, she pursed her lips.

"Jayne...how did you know I drink port~?"

Wordlessly, Jayne set the bottle down in front of Theta, turning it around so the label was facing her. It was the same brand as the bottle she'd gotten for Valentine's Day.

"I may not be edjucated like you, but I ain't without resources."

Did someone say 'party'? After that rather horrible week, and with Kairi now up and about, Sora felt that it was definitely time to celebrate. This holiday sounded like loads of fun, and it was high time that she, Riku and Kairi had gotten any sort of chance to just be normal again.

"C'mon guys, this way!" Sandals clicked against the streets as she ran ahead of her two best friends, the doors to the Black Stallion within sight. It was a miracle she hadn't gotten them all lost on the way.

And he was glad that Kairi was back just as much as the other two were. Though he didn't mind the one-on-one time, the awkward levels... Well, maybe the party would help ease some of that. And going with the trend, Riku was wearing a black and green hoodie with grey pants and t-shirt; obviously the most casual of the three...unless you count shoes. For the love of Santa Christ, why did Sora think sandals were a good idea?

"Sora, wait up!" He called out as well while shaking his head, secretly amused. Oh, the downside of wearing heels, Kairi... but at least he was staying close to Kairi to keep an eye on Sora and not lose her. Luckily they were so close already... "Was it really that much of a surprise?" Riku replied, an incredibly faint smirk crossing his lips.

There's laughter, and Sora stops a few feet from the door of the building and turns to face Riku and Kairi, a teasing grin on her face. "Man, you guys are way too slow!"

She crosses her arms and taps her foot in a mock-impatient manner. However, the grin never leaves her face, and it's hard not to laugh again.
