The night seemed to prove rather long and it had only been a few hours in to darkness. Loz was worried about his family and she learned of a betrayal that made Sephiroth rather angry...Something she could sadly sympathize with. Not to his extent but to the extent of leaving a wound on her heart ( ... )

Allen had been working on the back end of the setup, making sure none of the impromptu paper lanterns were too close to their candle counterparts. In addition, he had brought up snacks that he'd procured earlier in town. They weren't anything special, but sweet buns and three mugs of tea were cradled carefully in each hand as Lenalee made her grand appearance. Allen's expression was soft -- he'd heard the transmission himself, and much like Lavi, he'd found himself worrying about the girl exorcist. It wasn't right to let her dwell alone, when she had always been the sort of glue that bound them together in the worst of times ( ... )

For all that he was a big brave exorcist with no fears in the world, Lavi nearly jumped out of his skin when Lenalee appeared. And to think he'd expected her to come from the door that led inside the building. Thinking about it, he really should have known better. Shaking his head, he laughed a little at himself before lifting a hand to wave at the dark-haired girl. Luckily Allen was a bit more articulate with the greetings, so in the end, it all worked out ( ... )

For the moment she felt her breath caught in her throat with her mind screaming at her to at least show some appreciation on her face when all of the warmth from the gesture was in her heart. Moments like these were what made the war all worth it. Keeping the happiness between friends alive for another day where they could forget their troubles and just sit amongst the stars ( ... )
