Allen had been working on the back end of the setup, making sure none of the impromptu paper lanterns were too close to their candle counterparts. In addition, he had brought up snacks that he'd procured earlier in town. They weren't anything special, but sweet buns and three mugs of tea were cradled carefully in each hand as Lenalee made her grand appearance. Allen's expression was soft -- he'd heard the transmission himself, and much like Lavi, he'd found himself worrying about the girl exorcist. It wasn't right to let her dwell alone, when she had always been the sort of glue that bound them together in the worst of times.

"Lenalee..." Allen murmered the name lightly, the smile on his face a genuine expression of happiness and concern all at once. He caught the exchanged glance that Lavi sent his way, and after a moment he cleared his throat. "Lavi had this great idea. I thought I could help." It wasn't much, but anything in this place to make it seem more like home was a far cry better than nothing. Allen inclined his chin ever so slightly to indicate the redhead again. "He's been folding those paper lanterns since he shut off his communicator. I'm surprised he doesn't have any papercuts.."

Allen wandered over closer to the other exorcists, and held out the two small trays. The food and tea was mostly meant to warm themselves from the inside, because despite the weather being fairly amicable in this dismal place, nighttime always brought a different kind of chill with it. At least, that was something that Allen had noticed. "Go ahead. I promise It wasn't anything I made." Allen knew how to cook to survive, but he much preferred the cooking of others.
