Outed & Busted (redux) and cast of characters

Mar 08, 2010 14:36

So remember my whinging and complaining about being Outed and Busted (almost)?  Well, it turns that said suspicious friends have thought I was writing Twilight smut.  Which has led me to ask, and Hev over on NFFR to create, an awesome sig that states:  "It's better if they think you are writing Twilight smut, than know that you are writing in ( Read more... )

narnia, cast of characters, stone gryphon, outting

That is quite a cast list you have, Rth! Even without the Tashbaan "Others", the ones you just made up for Narnia and those in Oxford are enough to manage. :-)

This list is just as impressive as the timeline.

Twilight smut indeed. *laughs only slightly hysterically*

What a list! *is much impressed* And I love that the General is still simply the Gryphon general, and the Cook the Cook.

Of all the things, Twilight smut. I'm very amused.

I honestly would rather people know I was writing in Narnia--even if they thought I was writing Pevenscest or something equally horrible--than having any sort of association with Twilight.

But that's just me.

It's the suspecting versus knowing, and knowing me, the suspecting friends would suspect deliberate sarcasm on my part as well turning the fandom inside out and upside down. More importantly, they can look over there all they want and Never Find Me! MWHAAAA!

Quite off topic-- I've added you as a friend after reading your fics on ff.net. I love what you've written (I'm even tempted to reread it all now, not even a week after finishing what's there).

Awww, thanks much. I'm just an old lady who has written way too much in the last year. I think I've stumbled over your LJ before... perhaps through Yuletide treasures? I'm a huge Bujold fan myself (Vorkosigan and Chalion, anyway), and you'll see a lot of the Vorkosigan House staff characterizations in my Cair Paravel and Russell House personnel. I think some of Miles may worm its way into my Edmund characterizations and I don't think it's an accident that the rats and crows of the Bastard are in the Narnian Intelligence Service. Some of how Cazaril sees god-light is a bit like Asim bin Kalil (I think).

I adore your icon, btw.

Welcome aboard. Chapter 18 is up on my screen right now. I've got one more scene, so maybe tomorrow.

Sorry to take so long getting back to you. I'm slow at responding to comments.

The icon is my daughter as she looked about three years ago. The picture was too cute to give up.

It's possible you saw my LJ through Yuletide. I'm not prone to making many comments on the community, but I do sometimes. I've done Yuletide for four or five years now and enjoy it immensely. I like the challenge of writing for fandoms I'd not have thought to otherwise.

I'll keep my eyes open for Bujold borrowings. I can see the ones you mention now that I think about them, but I was sufficiently caught up in your prose not to notice as I read. I like the idea of Edmund as Miles-ish.
