I love it. Very in character for both. I love the list idea instead of a journal. It's perfect that she doesn't forgive his insecurites about himself.

I can totally see Remus doing the laundery. I'm sure Tonks is just like me...a right pig when it comes to dirty clothes. Someone has to take charge of that. And him reading the list...so Marauder.

I've been working on a MWPP piece that is with a beta right now so I have been thinking about Marauder-Remus more than usual. I really imagine his time at Hogwarts and his friends there profoundly shaped Remus, more than it does for most kids, because of his normal isolation due to the lycanthropy so it makes sense to me for him to still have a rather large Marauder streak as an adult. I mean, as soon as he wasn't a teacher anymore and knew Sirius wouldn't use it for evil, he did give Harry back the Marauder's Map.

In-Character! bratty_jedi June 16 2006, 19:20:34 UTC
This is a general response to all of the comments regarding characterization:

Thanks so much for your comments! I am really glad everyone so far thinks they seemed in-character. I haven't written much Tonks and we don't have a ton of her in canon so I am still playing around with her and was worried I hadn't got it right. Now that I know I'm not totally screwing her up, I have a bit more encouragement to do some pieces for the challenge. Now if only my work schedule would comply!

I like this - it's cute. Tonks seems very in character to me.

Thank you!

"Mangy git rummaged through my stuff and read my list." Ha! The ending really made me laugh :D
