Heather changes a LOT throughout the course of the game -- are you taking her post-SH3?

She does, and it's going to be a challenge, but I think I can nail her down. I'm playing her just after Harry was killed, so no.

An especially good scene to watch for clues on Heather's feelings at this time is the scene where she's put Harry in his bed and is talking to Douglas as she pays her last respects. Heather feels numb, at this time, I think, and she has a million emotions swirling around inside but she doesn't even know if she can deal with any of them, so she's bottling them up -- not necessarily on purpose, but at the same time she's not emotionally available right now. I see her being on a very tight string if that makes any sense, already feeling like she's being pulled in so many different directions she doesn't know if she can handle anything else.

Before, I think Heather was a pretty cheerful and reasonably outgoing girl, and not all of this is going to disappear, but she is grieving, and that's important to remember.

And now I think I'm done. If you have any other questions I can definitely help you out, or try, if you don't think I'm totally wrong here. :D

By the way, thank you so much for using "Mason" and not "Morris". I get that Morris ( ... )

Thank you so much for all this excellent advice! Now I'm sure I can pull her off, after I review the canon again and put into practice the tips you gave me :) It's funny, because most of what you said I'd planned to do, but I never thought of checking the The Kübler-Ross Model to make sure her emotional state was believable. Thank you for making it easier to pin down her character!

IDK what's up with the "Morris" surname anyway. It appears in some places, and as you said it might be a cover they used while in hiding, but since I dont see anything to support WHY she had that name along with "Mason" I figured I'd drop it.

LOL very late, but the name Morris probably comes from Heather's VA, who is also the character's namesake. (Originally she was going to be Helen apparently, but the staff thought the name was too old-fashioned; Heather Morris is her VA, and they kind of went with that. I imagine some press releases got "We named her after the VA" and ran with it. Either that, or it was part of a sneaky plan by Konami to hide her relation to Harry. After all, everyone would've been all abuzz about whether HEATHER Mason was related to HARRY Mason.)

TL;DR: I agree, drop the Morris. Far as we know, she never went by it.
