1. Going to go with a Dratini, because fuck catching them in the wild. Also, they are awesome and so are all of their evoluions.
2. I would start off with a Rotom. It's specifically listed as a non-legendary, and it is totally cool. Shapeshifter electric ghost? Sign me up.

#1 is kinda tough because I'm not a huge fan of the tri-stage evolution types that isn't a starter. Most of the ones I come up with require things like trading to get.

1) I can agree with dratini, but I feel like this is a cop-out due to the legendary nature of this beast. However, most of what I'd come up with requires trading or a stone to get beyond the second form. Also, I'm limited to only the first game. :P
2) Abra. I loves me my psychic types.

Forgot about Dratini, but as there aren't many choices I guess it works. Normally I would consider it "rare" or at least an unlikely choice given how difficult it is to raise looking at it's strength and power sets. But after some discussion I can understand and support the choice

1)FOR THE RECORD, there are VERY FEW pokemon who meet this qualifier (3rd stage w/no req's other than level....srsly, I looked it up, though I excluded happiness evo's, which you didn't cite, and obviously those wack-ass "Ancient Power" evo's) Aggron/flygon/metagross/luxray would be on my list, probably Luxray(the electro-vegeta pokemon), mostly cuz he's not instagodly by being dragon or steel. I guess.
2)Gastly, realistically, Imagine the fucking wack-ass terror I could incite with such a pokemon/it's evolutions. :D (obviously this is aside from snorlax, who's kinda rare/has the qualifier of flute-ing him)

edit: for that first category, only 19 exist(19 chains/final forms, of course)out of a full 493. Oh, and btw, if'n this were some sorta "RP" or realistic setting, I'd totally train pokemon like snorlax, "sleepers" as in pokemon who don't look like much, but could fuck up the competition.

Thank you for looking this up, I figured the number was pretty low but I thought it would at least be 30 or 40. Nineteen is really small, so it's probably very unlikely I would use that option.
