Slipping. Thin, a flash, like a fish skimming through water. Twisting along currents. She (he) slithers sideways through the world. Rock like sand underneath her (his) palm (mind). Water like wisps of cloud. Air like nothing, nothing at all ( Read more... )

It was raining.

Which, was totally ok in his book, but this was a very nice rain, even by Demyx standards. He left his lute inside when he walked through it, looking up at the sky as it dropped down. He hadn't been entirely sure Rowan had rain like this- after all, most of the rainstorms had been fierce and followed by bad news. This was a bit of a relief.

He stopped near where Elimyr had been captive- he'd gone to look every so often, to see if she was still there. And she was still there now. Just... out of the bubble.

It took him a moment to decide if he should approach. He eventually did, taking a few slow steps toward her. "Elimyr?"

She had her eyes closed. Palms upturned to meet the rain, and as she inhaled, exhaled, the earth shivered underneath her feet.

She turned, opening her eyes, at the name. The name. Her name?

Yes.

Maybe.

"Demyx," she said, and her voice was lower, a hint more musical than it ever was before.

That was a good sign- or at least, he thought it was. Demyx really had no idea what was going on right now, or what she was thinking or feeling or anything, but that was no different from normal he never did and wasn't very good at guessing.

"Hi," he said awkwardly, taking a step closer, "Are you alright?"

She looked to him, and something about her was still, was calm.

"You don't feel much, do you?" she asked.

Elimyr turned to Penny, and her eyes lit up, subtly. "Penny," she said, in clear recognition, familiarity, her tone soft and a little awed. "You survived."

And there was happiness, genuine happiness at that.

And the world spins.

No, they haven't met. Elimyr has no specific memories of her. Nothing they've done. Nothing they've said.

But there's something else there.

Elimyr's hand drifts to her chest. Her heart. Happiness, spreading warm through her.

"We didn't have to."

The rain was nice to watch and listen to, even Skyler could admit that much. He was't sure he'd known the sound of rain before now. But it actually raining on was another matter entirely. It was, well wet, but not harmful to him.

He'd been out getting to know the area when the rain arrived and saw no reason to go in now just because of a little wet.

He didn't know about the memorial there, or the bubble that had been there...but he saw the girl and being one such as hmself, he felt compelled to go see who she was and if she was alright. "Um, exscuse me," he said softly, walking over to stop right in front of her. "Are you okay here by yourself?"

The irony of a tiny, hapless furry thing asking her that was a little too much for her, and she laughed. Not an easy, natural laugh, but a blurted, startled one.

"Okay," she says, "yeah, I'm fine. Here, come sit with me," and she settled down, in the mud, completely ignoring the stain on the silk she's wearing. "Watch the plants grow."

Skyler shrugged mentally before having a seat next to her. As far as he knew, plants didn't grow that fast, but then again, he didn't know a whole lot about them. It never really occured to him to be wary of her, just like he hadn't had any suspicions about Demyx. "So what's your name?"

His tail was till burning brightly, steaming due to the rain hitting it, but the flame wasn't burning anything. Skyler chalked that up to the fact that if it did then there'd be a whole lot more dangerous fires in the world.

In fact, the plants were growing. Quite fast. A field that was mud and dead grass was blooming with snow flowers, little white blossoms.

What was her name.

"Elimyr," she told him. Not quite a lie.
