Superlatives rant.

Sep 20, 2005 22:38

These senior superlatives get the better of everyone. Not going to lie, I'm into them too, it would mean a lot to me to be voted Headed for Hollywood aka the stupid nickname for Class Actress. But they're making a lot of people bitchy and vindictive and snobby... frankly, I just don't need it right now. In a perfect world, they'd be a real ( Read more... )

OMG do you understand how i can so relate to that especially right now??? Its crazy hehe! I hated that whole "Class actress" thing and whatever because frankly when i was senior i really wanted to be class vocalist even though i wasn't really known that much for my vocal talent among others..however the girl who got it was someone who i thought did not deserve it at all..she literally campaigned for it and she won..its a big popularity contest and it hurts so bad when u don't win. I knew i wasn't going to get it..however i thought of other people who deserved it 10 times more than she did. I'm still bitter about that..it goes along with that whole favortism thing..i got screwed over a lot in highschool and it sucks. Once i entered college i began to shine and now everyone knows me for my talent. So i can seriously relate. I myself strived so hard to fit in all through middle school and highschool..in elementary i was actually friends with all of the people who ended up to be really popular..so once we hit middle school they thought ( ... )

Hahaha. 'Cause clearly, I am a whore first and a theatre kid second. Start choreographing your dances for Sweet Charity now so that he can't refuse! I love you. BTW - we SERIOUSLY need to discuss transportation to NYC on SATURDAY WOOOOOOOO 3 DAYS!!!

It's like Brittany Cohen winning Performer of the Year 3 years in a row. It's not like she's bad or anything, there are just other people who also definitely deserved the title. And 3 years in a row is kind of ridiculous. It's not even like she needed to campaign for it - I literally overheard some people saying "well I didn't see the shows, but I like Brittany." It's so stupid and doesn't measure anything. You know what you have now, so don't let it get to you.

In other news, if you're not completely avoiding me, I'd really like to talk to you at some point. It's been a while and a lot has happened. Yeah.

Tough Medicinal Truths in Life anonymous September 22 2005, 03:09:28 UTC
Well Ms. Lewis life is a bitch is it not? But you know what, life does not revolve around your petty little world. Fortunately for you, you live in a tiny bubble, protected from the true outside and true pain, so quit your little princess rants and take opportunity as it comes. Do not bring others down, when truly they do deserve things over you, whether it be grades, shows, or god forbid, senior superlatives. Because honestly, you are only in high school, and trust me when I say high school is basically bullshit, and yet you get ruffled about everything in it. You would not survive a day in the city, so I suggest you stay away from big cities. Because comparatively, you live in Voorhees, NJ, a town where everyone is well off. I wonder what internal struggles you would have if say you live in New Orleans right now, or how about Darfur. Yes, you would not survive a day, because your petty little internal struggles are selfish. If you want advice, I will give it to you straight and clear. 1. Get over yourself. 2. Your ( ... )

it's best not to live comparatively. while it is quite important to recognize other harsh conditions in the world, you cannot completely ignore your own concerns. you cannot be selfless without being a tiny bit selfish, it's not healthy--as long as you are able to recognize your areas of selfishness. kim is allowed to be concerned with whatever it is she wants to be concerned about. as is anyone.

Thanks for trying to bring me down. You seem like a very warm, uplifting, optimistic person.

Oh, and don't think for a minute I'm giving you the satisfaction of being successful... you'd be wrong. Again.

Don't like it? Don't read it. Have a nice day, I'm sure your lovely attitude will take you far in life.

P.S. Honestly -- and this is a serious question -- don't you have anything better you could be doing than getting yourself worked up over silly LJ entries and bitching about them? I marvel at people with your kind of time on their hands... really, how do you do it?
