Earlier this summer I was writing a five-times fic with Leoben. At one point I had a section with Gaius talking to Leoben on the cylon basestar; that bit kept degenerating from drama to weird sort-of comedy, so I decided to be as degenerate as possible and finish that part separately

Crackfic is so hysterical. Leoben angsting about Kara and Gaius interpreting that it's about him is classic them.

I'm so glad you found it amusing. I had to stifle giggles while writing it ('cause I was in a boring meeting--but a very large boring meeting, so not so noticeable).

Oooh, the hybrid--I've only written a small smidgen of hybrid, and that was hard. (Actually for the hybrid-speak I figured out the key words I wanted in the sentence then googled those words until I found an appropriately weird phrase that included everything I wanted... heh.) Anyway, Leoben/hybrid is the wacky couple of the year. why don't you write some of that?

Cleaning out fic notebook now that boring meetings are done for a while.
How does Leoben find out that Kara slept with Gaius? The hybrid tells him, of course. (The pestle is not just a pestle, by the way.)

Leoben was kneeling at the side of the hybrid's tank. Gaius was reluctant to disturb him--he found the cylon strange and off-putting. As he stepped into the room Leoben didn't look at him. The hybrid didn't either but he could feel their awareness of him. That was strange.

"The foreordained vessel caused a pestle broken."

After the hybrid's statement Leoben turned his head toward Gaius.

"He trails behind destiny entwined in blue strings."

Now Leoben glared. "You slept with Kara?!"

Gaius was unsurprised by the shrill tone, having heard it in Caprica's voice many times. But the actual statement... "What?"

"Captain Thrace," he replied, enunciating carefully. "You had sex with Kara."

Gaius stepped back, trying to avoid the spit. "I... uh... it was just the one time."

*smiles* I'm glad it was amusing. I wish I could write funny stuff more often, 'cause it's fun. But the muse seems to like bloody angst most of the time. (Then again, this is about BSG, so what else should I write?)
