Pooter- wtf?

Okay so 2 weeks ago I had the pooter in the PC shop- a faulty capacitor apparently- easily fixed and no problem. This weekend I got my external hard drive out of its box ready to plug in and start transferring data. I turn the computer on....and it's dead again. Sorry to hear about the 'puter problems. I sort of have mine running at a reasonable speed again with a new hard drive. The next time your computer stops, instead of going to the repair shop, do what you do with a colicky infant - put it in the car , drive around, take it home, and then see if it works properly again. LOL

Hi, yeah that's in effect what i did- unplug it stick it in the car, drive to the PC repair shop and he said wait a minute- i'll just see if it works when i connect up- and it did- he unplugged and i lugged it back to the car and home after work I plugged it and it's fine. But i spent several hours last night uploading everything in My Docs folder to the External HD just in case. I am now deleting emails and figuring out how to save those i want and my bookmarks for transfer to the new computer- maybe this weekend...
