The Brothers Black

This is one of my more ridiculus Harry Potter theories, though I think you will find that it makes an amazing amount of sense. Sirius and Regulus are brothers. Sirius is the older of the two, and the Harry Potter fandom has always made a (logical) assumption that there is a year difference between the two. Who is to say that there is even that ( Read more... )

even better; I could never imagine Snape acting on any tip from Sirius (this is just as plausible as Red Hen's notion regarding how that bit of information was passed on!)

Yes, there always seemed to be more to the Severus/tunnel story and this just might be it. But even if they aren't twins, they still might have been able to pass for one another in the moonlight.

Hmmm. The problem with that is, would someone who had an identical twin on the "other side" of the Voldemort war have ever been admitted into the DEs or the Order?

This is a good theory! Also, Slughorn wanted to have the "set" of Blacks both in Slytherin.

Ooo! You're right! That certainly makes it sound as if they were at last in the same year. People don't refer to me and my sister as being a "set" at school. They don't even refer to my sister and my brother in that way, and they are only a grade apart. I like that point alot!

AWESOME theory -- it makes sense, and I rather think I'm going to have a hard time thinking of Sirius/Regulus as anything BUT twins now. Thanks! :)

Thanks!
Me too. Now it seems like anything else just isn't plausible! Well, I suppose it would have to be plausible for JKR to write it, but it would be a very big PUSH.

I know the feeling. This was actually inspired b/c I wanted to write something about Regulus but nothing was adding up right with him being a year younger than Sirius.

What a cool theory! It's certainly as plausible as anything else out there. (Perhaps more so, given the 'binary star' evidence.)

Gracias! Isn't the binary star bit fun?
