My Printer Is Busted Anyway

► Today is one of those days where I can't seem to shut my brain off and I keep thinking and worrying about a bunch of issues. Mostly concerns about dwindling money, my dying computer which I can't afford to fix or replace, regular concerns about the cat, the growing heat and humidity of the apartment, among many other things for greater and lesser importance.

I think a lot of this can be summed up as my feeling "stuck" where I am in life, literally and figuratively. More and more I seem to drive myself nuts thinking about the things I want out of life, and how it all seems so far away and impossible. It's not even extravagant things really. At least I don't think wanting a nice quiet smoke-free house of my own and a feeling of security and space for Stormy counts as extravagance.

► I probably wouldn't be worrying about money as much today if I didn't spend some online yesterday. Browsing some of my bookmarks I found out that my favourite cosplayer, BelleChere, started a new website where she's selling prints of her in her various costumes for $12 a pop. Half of the proceeds go towards Hero Initiative, which I think is a fairly noble cause as a lifelong comic book fan. Anyway, looking through the website I picked out photos of BelleChere in costume as Ms. Marvel and Red Sonja, and ordered one photo each. I asked for them to be signed and personalized. I probably should have waited to buy any, but to be honest I don't mind.


            


BelleChere told me that my order was the first from outside the United States*. Fancy that, I'm special!

► Last night Dean rented Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol from pay per view and asked me to watch some of it with her. I missed the first 10 or 15 minutes, but watched the rest. Outside of a couple of ridiculous moments, I thought the movie was terrific and very entertaining. Also, Paula Patton was incredibly gorgeous.

► War Film Alphabet by Stephen Wildish - I think this is clever, though I'm actually having trouble identifying some of the films.
