Waiting For My Ship(s) To Come In

Sep 13, 2011 13:38

► When I buy something online that ships through regular mail from the US it usually takes just under two weeks for it to arrive at my doorstep. That's why I'm starting to get worried and overly anxious about three items that were shipped three weeks ago, and that should have arrived last week. The biggest worry is the package with the eight drawings I won and bought on Ebay since they cost over $100.

I keep hoping that they'll arrive soon, but each day makes me fret more than the last. Especially since I'm starting to receive items I bought only a week and a half ago. When you spend so much time exiled in your home or apartment, you tend to obsess over things like this.

► Thank you Wynn! When I checked my email this morning, I almost didn't notice the message from Wynn Ryder with scans of the final four sketchcards from the nine I commissioned at the end of August. They are Rogue, Mera, Goblin Queen, and Beachhead from G.I. Joe. Oddly, I think the Beachhead might be my favourite (though I love all 4). Wynn said he should be mailing them "very soon." I can hardly wait!

The 6 Best (and 6 Worst) Filmation-Only He-Man Characters - I love Shadow Weaver and would definitely buy an action figure of her if Mattel actually made it easier for non-scalpers to get their Masters of the Universe Classics figures. Yuckers, however, is awful and should never get a figure.

The 10 Best 'Found Footage' Films of All Time - I hadn't heard of In The Dark before, but now I want to see it (found it on Amazon.ca and added it to my "buy later" list). Last week I started watching The Troll Hunter online but only got about 30 minutes into it before I had to go do other things. I liked what I saw so I should finish it at some point.

25 Spectacular Movies You (Probably) Haven’t Seen - Of the films listed, I've only seen 7, but own 5 of them.* The Man From Earth is another movie I've never heard of before, but it sounds very interesting.

* I own Snatch, Boogie Nights (one of my 10 favourite movies), The Closet (Le Placard), Mystery Men, and The Big Lebwoski.

Sam Gilbey Illustrates: Face/Off poster for Picturehouse Stratford - Now that's a really cool poster.

Quote of the Moment

Clark: Come 'on, Honey. We can't close our eyes to the plight of the city. Kids, you noticing all this plight? [Gunshot, followed by screams.] Roll 'em up.
