Fic recs: Merlin RPF
berusama 'The art of deception (you're doing it wrong)' (3,600 words, Bradley/Colin, PG-13)
Bradley and Colin try to play a prank on Angel, but of course it all goes wrong. Or not... Hilarious and dead cute. Also, any fic starting with Colin engaging in 'guerrilla sunbathing' has my attention!
calliglad *)
'Reverse karma and soggy Converse' (Bradley/Colin, PG-13)
After their break in filming Bradley notices he's looking forward to seeing Colin again. I could feel Bradley's anticipation, how time seems to stretch when you're waiting for something a little more eagerly than you expected. Bradley is adorable in this warm fic.
charlotteschaos 'Slow burner' (3,200 words, Bradley/Colin, NC-17)
I love it when sex is playful, perfectly imperfect, a little bit messy and a lot satisfying
cherrybina *)
'While you and me we hold and lean' (Bradley/Colin, R)
About the satisfying delight of sleeping all cuddled up, comfortable and secure. Incredibly sweet and lovely, with a languid and hot turn.
chibirhm *)
'If We Sleep Together (Will You Be My Friend Forever)' (Bradley/Colin, 11,300 words, R)
This entry is locked to members of
bradleycolin.
A delightful progress from friendship, to friendship with benefits to admitting that this is bromance without the b as seen through Bradley's eyes. I loved their voices in this, also of Katie, Angel, Anthony and Neil, Colin's brother. It's sweet and playful, and if you like good kissing you're in for a treat.
coffeejunkii 'And nobody wears a crown' (11,800 words, Bradley/Colin, NC-17)
This fic gives me that butterflies-in-stomach feeling I love so much. I love how it shows the trust grow between them, how they're carefully testing the ground, how it's kind of scary, but also exciting and new, both the sex and the whole relationship thing. How things don't automatically go right immediately, but they work it out.
I love their sweetness and their mischievousness, the jokes and banter and the tenderness. Reading this fic feels like falling in love.
*)
'A jump and a climb' (10,000 words, Bradley/Colin, NC-17)
This is a sequel to 'And nobody wears a crown'.
corysilver *)
'Artistic license' (Bradley/Colin)
Written for the ear fetish prompt at
kinkme_merlin prompt. I love their voices in this, also of Angel and I grinned all the way through.
derryere RPS does not get to have a title (16,000 words, Bradley/Colin, NC-17)
Even though I'd seen this fic recced all over the place, even to me personally, by several people, it took me until last weekend to finally read it. Just ignore the nonchalance in the header because this fic is so worth reading. It's lovely, funny and incredibly tender.
dysonrules *)
'A close shave' (Bradley/Colin, 1,910 words, PG)
Colin doesn't like Bradley's beard and to make clear just how much he means it he offers to shave it off himself. On a dare Bradley takes him up on the offer and then they find out that this actually is a more intimate act than they'd anticipated.
elandrialore This entry **) contains two fics by
elandrialore: 'All the small things' (1,000 words, Bradley/Colin, PG-13) and an untitled pre-slashy snippet (400 words, Bradley/Colin, PG)
They're both very much in character as far as I'm concerned, but I especially find Colin in the snippet spot on. The first fic plays with the reaction of the guys on the slashing fans and how the makers of the series have admitted they're catering to that particular audience. The guys are so adorable!
A comment fic (550 words, Bradley/Colin, PG)
A behind the scenes tag inspired by the
GMTV interview.
It's not that Colin's bad at interviews, it's just that he gets nervous. He gets nervous, and if he's alone he'll manage to stutter out an answer, but if he's with Bradley then it's a lot easier to just let Bradley fill up all those empty spaces.
Captures exactly the vibe I got from the interview.
franticsga 'The lessons of Murphy' (1,600 words, Bradley/Colin, PG)
Bradley used to have a cat Murphy he loved to bits, but it took some time for him to figure this cat out and make Murphy love him back. Now, years later with Colin, history repeats itself. Utterly adorable.
'Anaphylaxis' (2,200 words, Bradley/Colin, PG)
Bradley is told to keep an eye on Colin to keep him out of harm's way, a task he takes on grudgingly. Made me giggle and snort and go 'awwwww'.
franticsga and
hija_paloma *)
'Lucky knickers will get you everywhere' (Bradley/Colin, 7,000 words, R)
A new-to-this-all and helplessly curious Bradley being led the way by a more experienced and very patient Colin leading to lots of perfectly imperfect and enthusiastic sex. I think that covers most of my Bradley/Colin rps kinks. Yep.
glimmergirl 'Catch me' (500 words, Angel/Katie, PG-13)
A happy, sparkling, giddy little ficlet with passionate kissing in the rain.
'Costume change' (500 words, Bradley/Colin, PG-13)
Bradley has a thing for Colin's neck in this sensual little ficlet with lazy, dreamy and slow kissing.
*)
'Public display of affections' (500 words, Bradley/Colin, PG)
Stealthy touches and glaces and little sweet gestures.
*)
'Catalog' (2,290 words, Bradley/Colin, NC-17)
I love the almost reverent way in which Bradley explores Colin's body and how he later gives in to the accumulated passion.
heather11483 'View' (450 words, Angel/Bradley, NC-17)
Short but happy and hot.
hils 'Plenty to be thankful for' (1,200 words, Bradley/Colin, PG-13)
Bradley has a thing for Colin's ears. Can you blame him?!
ifyouweremine *)
'Wherein wooing Colin is somewhat more difficult than anticipated' (2,000 words, Bradley/Colin, PG-13)
The title is selfexplanatory really. It's hilarious, sweetly adorable, with some moments that made me smile fondly.
kageygirl '(Keep Feeling) Fascination' (2,000 words, Bradley/Colin, R)
Written for the
Merlin Kink Meme. I love Colin's clever and slow seduction and Bradley's fascination and from a certain point I basically whimpered my way through this fic as it also hits my kink for fun, consensual, uncomplicated sex with lots of laughter turning into moans, and no angst whatsoever. Hits it hard.
kat_fanfic 'Know thyself. Or not' (3,900 words, Bradley/Colin, PG)
This brought a broad goofy grin to my face. Sparkly humor and thoughtful moments. PG that makes my toes curl.
kick_flaw *)
'Open (Filthy Reverence)' (3,600 words, Bradley/Colin, NC-17)
Deliciously filthy fic where the boys experiment with a buttplug, some mild powerplay and roleplay. I love their enthusiasm, the banter and how they're guys having fun as opposed to pro porn stars.
lamardeuse *)
'A questionable quest' (11,600 words, Bradley/Colin, NC-17)
A deliciously long fic in which Colin comes along on Bradley's quest for his favorite crisps in what turns into a road-trip with revelations. Starts silly and gets increasingly more adorable and sweet along the way
*)
'Home truths' (1,150 words, Bradley/Colin, PG-13)
A sequel to
'A questionable quest' but can be read as a stand-alone. In which Bradley is trying to figure out some of those complicated relationship things. They work it out though :D
lilithilien 'Most proud of' (2,000 words, Bradley/Colin, PG)
I love it when rps takes a real life moment and gives it a twist so you'll never look at that moment the same way again. Bradley is adorable in how he's slightly exasperated with his own worry, and I love how Colin is ok with it.
*)
'Accidents will happen' (3,000 words, Bradley/Colin, NC-17)
This made me snicker and smile and feel all fuzzy and warm. Boys in love, misunderstandings, a bit of angst and a happy ending with joyful sex.
luisadeza Untitled wee ficlet **) (300 words, Bradley/Colin, R)
A short smutlet that made me snort and giggle.
moonythestrals 'Getting to yes' (3,700 words, Bradley/Colin, NC-17)
Bradley and Colin fumbling their first steps into gay sex and getting ever better at it.
mrs_leary *)
'Murphy's law' (4,400 words, Bradley/Colin, R)
In which Bradley's attempt at a date with Colin seems to go wrong at every turn, with Bradley getting more and more frustrated, Colin completely relaxed and easy-going, and both utterly adorable.
*)
'Multitudes' (5,500 words, Bradley/Colin, NC-17)
Read the warnings; they're quite accurate. This fic is totally different from her others. Set in the future it's more raw, with both guys more mature. I especially love this provocative Colin who dares Bradley to reconsider what it is he likes and wants and what he's willing to do to get it. It's clear that Colin is already one step ahead.
*)
'Wild honey' (15,300 words, rps/Island crossover, Bradley/Calum, NC-17)
This fic has already been recced all over the place, and I'm reccing it here anyway, because I fell for her characters hard. She made me finally buy and read the book, which made me realize just how perfect Colin is for this role. And once you've read the book you'll want more, and that's exactly what you get with this fic (although I did it the other way around, and that works just as well).
This pairing touched me deeply, in all the ways the characters aren't perfect but are trying the best the can. In how they bring out the best in each other. In the way other characters and elements from the book are worked into the story in such a way that it fits but you don't need to have read the book to understand.
This fic is tender and yet realistic, with hope and trust and loads of positivity.
*)
'All that you can't leave behind' (9,090 words, Merlin/Island crossover, Bradley/Calum, NC-17)
A sequel to
'Wild honey' which I recced over
here and which should be read first to make this one make sense.
The sequel has romance and adventure and the sex is a delight.
*)
'Location fling' (5,600 words, Colin/OMC, Bradley/Will Mellor, Bradley/Colin, NC-17)
Bradley is quite shaken when he accidentally walks in Colin having sex with a guy. He seeks out Will to do his own experimenting and gets caught into something he doesn't quite know how to handle. Things get untangled when Colin steps in.
I loved Bradley's confusion, the imperfect sex, Colin being so secure in his own skin, Will being a boar but not a bastard, and of course Colin showing Bradley how good it can be.
*)
'The green silk dress' (5,490 words, Bradley/Colin, NC-17)
I'm not much into cross-dressing but I love watching Bradley watch Colin, the way this sets them off trying different things. Also, I do have a virginity kink, and I love it especially when it has this sweet balance between trust, vulnerability, lust and patience.
*)
'Bittersweet' (Bradley/Colin, 8,270 words, NC-17)
From the start of filming the chemistry between Colin and Bradley is clear, both on- and off-screen. The slow building of the attraction between them is exquisite and the confusion and doubt this brings understandable since they each have a very steady girlfriend...
Angsty but also moving. I love how the crackling energy between Colin and Bradley is practically palpable and once they take the plunge they do it in a way that's both respectful to the girls (who are genuinely lovely) as very energetic in a 'thank god, finally' kind of way.
owlyscribblings *)
'A day at the museum' (1,600 words, Bradley/Colin, PG)
Bradley and Colin wandering through through the Louvre, not getting what all the French signs and attendants are saying, happy in their little bubble of banter, and finally a kiss. I smiled so hard.
paperclipbitch 'Car sans toi il n’y a pas de chanson' (2,600 words, Angel/Bradley, PG-13)
This had me smiling and giggling all the way through; with all its hilarious moments it's an insanely sweet fic.
rageprufrock An untitled ficlet written for the
Merlin Kink Meme (500 words, Bradley/Colin, R)
Hilarious, with a dirty Colin and an exasperated Bradley.
schmoooop *)
'Crazy things' (Bradley/Colin, 3,000 words, PG-13)
The guys bond and play with the camera and there are some scenes that unfortunately never made the video diary. Pure fluff with sweet boys and kissing.
spiny 'The horse and his (co-star's) boy' (4,800 words, Bradley/Colin, NC-17)
Absolutely lovely. Hilarious and yet so adorable.
*)
'Colin Morgan and the crawl of doom' (Bradley/OFC, Bradley/Colin, 2,900 words, NC-17)
During a party at Bradley's place, Colin finds himself trapped in a bathroom with the only way out through the bedroom where Bradley is having sex with a girl. Bradley catches him trying to sneak out, and from there events go quite differently then either of them would have expected.
*)
'Modern Myths' (Bradley/Colin, 830 words, NC-17)
Bradley has difficulties coming to terms with the fact the apparently he's gay. Colin is sweetly understanding and patient. Beautiful and fragile.
*)
'The rush of water',
'Rain wakes me' and
'Let me be the street' (3,500 words, Bradley/Colin, NC-17)
A series of ficlets in which Colin gives mixed messages, Bradley is confused, there is much longing and sweet ache and you'll be so, so thankful she wrote that last part. Beautiful.
themauvedecade *)
'A process, not an event' (4,370 words, Bradley/Colin, NC-17)
When you click the link you'll see the picture that inspired the fic. This story ends with a bit of NC-17, which is really nice too, but it's the story that leads up to the moment that Bradley realizes just what he feels for Colin that I loved most.
timetraveled *)
'Hey, who turned out the lights?' (3,060 words, Bradley/Colin, PG-13)
A lovely, sweet fic with the boys being boys, some snort moments, Angel helping Bradley to figure out there is no problem and kissing that had my toes curl in delight.
valderys *)
'Beautiful game' (4,375 words, Bradley/Colin, PG-13)
A soccer six fic to go with the event. One in which they're heart-warmingly adorable, and where there's kissing and laughter. Very much a 'oh boys...' kind of fic.
woldy *)
'All the best pranks involve bananas' (2,500 words, Bradley/Colin, R)
Starts out decidedly porny and makes a surprisingly sweet turn towards the end.
zarathuse *)
'Kind of like this' < (Bradley/Colin, 4,500 words, R for fic, NC-17 for one of the links, crack)
Absolutely cracktastic fun story, in which Bradley's plan to seduce Colin doesn't go according to schedule but has the desired effect nontheless.
