Media misreporting
So the news drove me crazy the other day. I was driving to work and the newsreader was announcing the latest warning to parents.
"Parents warned that 50% of cot deaths are caused by parents sharing a bed with their baby"

Nearly a year on...
Archie is nearly a year old.
A year old!
There's a cliche that kids grow up too quick. And now I'm a parent I realise it might be a cliche, but it's true.
And something struck me the other day that you don't realise before you're a parent: kids grow up in front of your eyes. There are no milestones.

Dusting off the previously unreleased archives
I've just discovered some of the stuff that was missed in my absence from LiveJournal.
When we first found out about Lucie being pregnant, I made sure I made regular blog posts about everything. For obvious reasons, I made them private, with the intention that when the baby was general knowledge I would make them public.

Avon? Where on earth is that?
Here's a geography lesson for you all.
When I was born, I was born in a county called Avon.
Avon itself was a bit of an unwieldly mash of places, and a lot of people here would say they were from 'Somerset' or 'Bristol'. Or maybe even the much looser term 'the Westcountry'.

Moved into my own place back where I grew up - it's weird to think it but I've always stayed in a place owned by family or Lu's mum.
Went paintballing. Went go-karting. Injured myself on a space hopper
