Apparently she wasn't immune to the odd mood-swing or two, even with the potion she took. The last few days had been rather odd since her travel plans had been cancelled and she felt like she was floating amid her routine without any real direction again. What was she supposed to looked forward to now? Every week was starting to feel like a copy of the last and though routine felt safe, it wasn't necessarily welcome.
Where was the thrill? Where was the thing that drove her to get out of bed in the morning and didn't come out of a bottle?
Should she look at booking another trip? No. The thought left a somewhat bitter taste in her mouth. The money was back in her account now at Gringotts (surprisingly fast considering how slowly it had taken to come out of there in the first place - making Lavender even more annoyed with the goblins). She could invest it in something, she supposed. But what? It could just sit in her vault for now, earn some interest.
Flourish and Blotts wasn't her usual sort of shop to visit, but Lavender was looking for inspiration. Actually, she'd found inspiration from the cakes at George's party last weekend. So now she was browsing the food section in the book shop, rolling her eyes at the deluxe edition of Charm Your Own Cheese (now with extra gouda!) and finding some more suitable recipe books. Her fingers ghosted over a book of what were meant to be Australian recipes and she wondered, briefly, how you were supposed to work up the nerve to ask someone out for a drink. No. That was silly. She wasn't supposed to think that.
Oooh. A book of chocolate recipes. That was a good distraction from those sorts of thoughts.
