Angelina entered Flourish and Blotts intent on finding a few new recipe books. She was interested in seeing what new concoctions she could create at home and possibly new ideas she could bring to The Sweetshop.

When she rounded a stack where the recipe books were located, she saw there was a young woman already there. She recognized the younger Gryffindor from school.

"Hey Lavender," Angelina said. "Thinking of cooking up something new? Or are you shopping for someone else?"

"Oh, hello!" Lavender grinned, slipping the book she had been browsing through back onto the shelf. "Shopping for myself. Got a bit inspired by those cakes you made for George."

"Oh," Angelina said in surprise. It took her a moment to move past her surprise. "Well, thank you, That's kind." Angelina had been proud of the cakes, but she wouldn't have expected anyone to decide to make sweets because of them. She smiled.

"Anything if particular you're inspired to make?" she asked.

Angelina glanced at the book spines. "I'm searching for new recipes or new recipes that will trigger some creative idea."

"Hmm. No. Just anything, really," Lavender mused, picking out another book. "I bake more than is probably sensible or sane, but I mostly just concentrate on the decorations. Don't tend to charm the cakes themselves, though that volanco cake was pretty spectacular."

She opened the cover of the book, scanning the contents. "I just fancy doing something a bit different."

"Anytime you want to see them," Angelina began, "let me know. My door is open--not that there's a terrible lot to see in my place yet, but in time, I think it will start to look more like home."

Angelina didn't want to press Lavender any further about her living arrangements, which seemed to be a sensitive subject. "That's nice," she answered because it did sound like a nice arrangement. Angelina didn't see her grandmother very often anymore. Sometimes it was hard being magical in the Muggle world.

She turned her attention back to the books, hoping to ease the line of tension that had formed on Lavender's forehead. "So...any decisions?"

"Yeah. It is. A bit different after living in Hogsmeade with friends. But it's nice." She still thought it was a positive change, despite a bit of growing loneliness.

"Um... I don't know. I think I might get this one," she said, holding up the book in her hand. "Though I'd really love to get a copy of that recipe you did for that volcano cake."

"Oh, that does look interesting. Let me know how it turns out," Angelina said.

When Lavender asked for the volcano cake recipe, she blushed. "Sure thing," she said. "I"m always happy to share with a fellow cook. I think I'll buy this book." She held up the cupcake book and smiled. "If anything ends up amazing, I'll let you know."

"You'll let me know if you need a night away and want to bake, yeah?"

"Of course. I'm sure I'll end up leaving a few of my experiments at the shop if you ever drop by."

Lavender smiled. It was a sweet, but slightly unusual offer and she would actually seriously consider it. "I will, yeah. That sounds good."
