Stevie was an efficient kitchen gopher and a quick study for basics, but after this one night not too long ago he'd been even more silent and sullenly withdrawn than before. Especially around Jilly. He couldn't really talk to Jilly and not know how much of it would get back to him. So he followed orders and spoke only when provoked.
Mornings found him coming from a different direction than the Kent house, and he didn't bother to hide it either.

Kobato always tried not to treat Tim like he was made of glass. But being around him made her heart sting. She took the opportunity to gently squeeze his shoulder or pat his hand, and leave him extra sweets. He looked so slim lately. She still had to repress the urge to just crush him into a hug. But, she was managing.
"Will you help me with these petit fours? I'm not allowed to to the pretty top part."

Kobato was like a mini-Jilly. Only shy. And he didn't have to worry about who she lived with. He missed Kisa less with her around.
So he nodded, examined the sample, and picked up the little piping bag. "How come?" He didn't look away. A bare minimum of talk kept Rukia from smacking him for being rude.

Kobato sidled up next to him, gently cupping his hands over his. It looked for a moment like she was going to guide him into the fine loops and curls on the piping, but it came out looking as if it had been sprayed with silly-string.
Working at the White Bun cafe had been ideal, considering his talents, and it was already proving to benefit him quite nicely. Aside from the necessary financial benefits, it allowed him a reason to be out of the house-- a valid excuse to be away from his Young Master, so to speak, and by extension, a subtle way in which he could annoy the boy.
Of course, nobody but Ciel would ever suspect that was one of his motives for working here.
Being an average day at the cafe, Rukia had no trouble in going about her routine. Working there for over a year had brought valuable experience, as well as allowed her to develop her very own method for dealing with customers.
"Good morning! Welcome to the White Bun Cafe~!" She almost sang the words in her higher-pitched sugary voice. She stood at the front of the cafe near the entrance, greeting any who entered with an overdose of cheer.
"There are ever so many dishes to try- You simply must try our soup special."
Roy gave her a cockeyed look, but herded his little girl on in without doing more than taking the long way around the wacky waitress. "Why, what's in it?" he quizzed warily, thinking about Shadhavar steak.
There was a table in the window that looked good for people-watching, but he was inclined to sit further back from the public eye when entertaining his less defensible dates. He tugged a chair out for Ofelia with two fingers and a flourish. "My lady."
The cheerful look never left her face. "Only the finest and freshest ingredients. Today's special uses cooked carrots and a secret recipe sauce, it's very delicious~"
She handed them both menus, putting her hands neatly behind her. "May I get you something to drink?"

"Thank you," Ofelia said with a slight smile as she climbed into the chair Roy offered her. Rukia she eyed a little warily, not entierly sure what to make of all that cheerfulness, but perked up at the mention of drinks. "Chocolate milk...?"
