This was bad.

This was not at all the way the Doctor intended it. He had planned to go to through the tree, find the Godking there and settle things out of reach of the hostile natives. If there was a world he could live in peace, away from the war and the possibility of causing trouble, then the Doctor would have wanted it. But things were never that simple, and they certainly weren't going to be now.

He was sprinting through the market, and he just managed to spy the shape of the dark-skinned man, which he presumed to be the Jaguar from his tail and claws, and the others. He had to catch him.

"ZIHKHADHARA! WAIT, STOP, I CAN EXPLAIN IT! I CAN EXPLAIN IT ALL!"

Rivelata: Max nixe_eva January 15 2009, 20:52:06 UTC
There was a point at which Max's patience ran out. She wore her weapons around the city. There was no point in not being ready. A bow and a quiver were the least of her worries. Months of training had gone into her from Rivelata's leading vigilante, and truly the only adult in Rivelata Max actually obeyed, mostly without question ( ... )

"Like us" he had asked. Her mind began to go into chaos at the symbol, and she shook her white head. "I do not..." Though the change... His magic. Yes. He had magic. She had seen it. True magic her mind reminded her. Her wide blue eyes turned on him. "Do you know him...?"

He took off running, and she was drawn to follow him, drawn to be close to him. The woman kept up with him, though she didn't want to run, or... run around him, she corrected. It drew her, and repelled her. Wide eyes looked around, for anything.

She was barely gasping as her escort ran after his prey. Then she stopped. Fear began to overtake her. He was chasing prey. Running... attracts their attention. She didn't follow him. Last began taking steps away from her escort, the cat-man. Fear... Was this fear? Fear that humans felt ( ... )

See, running after people felt somewhat familiar to poor Bubbles. It was the same kind of feeling that struck her when she saw the flying boy. That and the overwhelming sense that things were getting complicated fast--the only thing she could think of to do was to stick with the people she knew. Twenty and Last.

Just as Twenty took off, she heard someone shouting behind her. Zihkhadhara? Who was that? There in the distance, someone running, trying to catch up to someone--them?

Then Last grasped onto her arm, anxious about something. "Do not run after him. Running will cause him to notice you. Walk, do not run."

Of course, Bubbles assumed that the him Last mentioned was the doctor, aka the man offering to explain everything. "Why wouldn't we want him to notice us? Do you think he's dangerous?" For the first time, a small trembling of fear took over the ditzy blond. "Do you think that man is after Twenty?"

Without realizing it, Bubbles found herself clinging onto Last, suddenly feeling very small in a very large world.

Al had noted Nagi's entry in the journals, and it had triggered a vague snatch of memory, of the boy who now - and usually - seemed so calm, so composed, falling to pieces, his eyes full of confusion ( ... )
