WHO: Selene deals_death, Yuu Kanda kandescence, and Kaiman crosslizard WHAT: Dragging the corpses out of the river and burning them for great justice. WHERE: In a van down by the river. WHEN: Day 154.
Kill them, would have been Kanda's answer to Kaiman's question, had he bothered to voice one. He didn't.
He had landed, in a shower of snake entrails and blood, amidst the thick of the logjam of bodies, which they'd still only partially cleared. On one knee in the rancid stagnant water and decomposing flesh, he had come practically face-to-face with the mangled and disfigured corpses, barely inches away really.
There was a moment in which he just stared, forcing himself to keep his composure, not to lose his focus. The sky above them was silent now.
Kanda stood and sheathed his sword. "There is a building-some sort of a temple," he pointed in the direction the snake had flown, "But it went beyond it. There was a hole in the earth like a huge cave mouth." He looked up briefly to the canopy of branches above them-the jungle seemed suddenly restless; it was eerie, but for his part, he wasn't shaken by the battle, and certainly did not assume that they should now instantly flee in retreat.
Selene braced herself as the earth tremored, and she turned her attention immediately to the ground. It didn't take long to put two and two together. A cave mouth in the earth, and now a rumbling beneath their feet. There had to be an underground passage of some kind. But where was it leading?
"They're underneath us," Selene said, starting to sound a little alarmed. Where were they going. Her ears were sharp, but it was still difficult to gauge the direction when the movement was muffled by feet of damp ground. She dropped to her knees, pressing an ear to the moist earth.

He looked curiously at Selene when she put her head to the earth. Could she really hear them that way?
"Eeeehhh.... like bats....." Kaiman looked towards the city. He has a rather bad feeling about this whole ordeal.
