Digging up the corpses...
WHO: Selene deals_death, Yuu Kanda kandescence, and Kaiman crosslizard
WHAT: Dragging the corpses out of the river and burning them for great justice.
WHERE: In a van down by the river.
WHEN: Day 154.
This was going to be positively vile.
Selene was making no mistake of her distaste when she arrived at edge of the river. It was a somewhat dangerous journey to the river. She had left early and taken the long way through the jungle off the western side of the city. She wanted to make a point to walk through the field that these corpses used to inhabit before the rain washed them into the river. The plain still smelled of rotting death, and as she sunk through certain areas of mud, she found her boot coming in contact with some lost, forgotten extremity. A severed hand, a torn arm. It took every bit of fortitude she possessed to keep herself from vomiting quite a bit at the edge of the jungle.
Before long, however, she found herself at the single bridge spanning the river. This seemed to be like a good place to wait for the others to arrive. It was the most prominent landmark between the river and the jungle, and the place where a good majority of the corpses still seemed to be hanging around. She spotted the problem immediately. A few of the bloated bodies had snagged on some high-jutting river rocks and jetties. As the corpses floated down, they seemed to be building upon each other, forming something of a human dam in the middle of the river. Water still trickled through, slowly, tainted with the rot and biological leftovers of the choke it seeped through.
This was going to be a very long night. There were hundreds of bodies, and with only three people dragging them out, it would not be a quick task. She sighed desolately, tugging a handkerchief out of her beltpouch and tying it securely over her nose and mouth. She knew she wouldn't contract any diseases from these dead souls, but if she expected to make it through the night without losing most of her dinner, she would have to not smell them.
