To be honest, Tidus hadn't expected finding or being found by anyone he knew. It seemed unlikely, doubtful, impossible. He didn't have luck like that. His heart was racing as well, reminded him of blitzball and sparring and the first time he had seen Yuna. He flashed a soft smile at the memory and stood up.

He had closed his journal and shoved it into the pocket of his dirty clothes after Yuna had scrambled off. Tidus leaned down to pick up his sword, the one he had gotten from Wakka, and slung it over his shoulder. He looked older, different. He wasn't the same awkward hero that could barely hold a sword with two hands, let alone get a grasp on it like he was now.

He kept his eyes on the crowd to his right, on the town, searching. He had to see her. Needed to. It was bizarre and insane and it really didn't make any sense at all to him, but she was here and that was enough. For now ( ... )

Her ears picked up on the tone of the whistle, and she turned on her heel toward where the latest crowd of newcomers were being pushed off onto the dock and spilling onto the sand. Then an arm shot up, waving around wildly like a lone stalk of grass sticking out of the ground. And beneath it, a tuft of blonde hair, disheveled and waterlogged, just like hers had been when she arrived.

She stopped whistling and ran in her darling way with her arms swinging at her sides, her hair whipping by her cheeks and her long earring jingling with each step as she soared across the sand.

The distance was crossed in a matter of seconds, and Yuna threw off her bag a few feet from the Blitzball player, her staff embedding itself in the sand.

Eyes filled with happy tears and a smile that filled her entire face, she cried redundantly, "Tidus!"

And before he could respond, the girl had flung herself at him with both arms outstretched, throwing them around his neck and crushing herself tight against his chest. He was there, he was real. She could hear ( ... )

The moment she dropped the bag, both of his hands fell to his sides. He felt his own emotions swell to the surface but unlike her, it wasn't visible. Tidus' eyes widened and he had been about to tell her there was no need to cry, when she pounced on him.

Well, he hadn't expected that, either ( ... )

"O-oh. Sorry!"

She rocked back onto her heels and held her arms straight, though her hands were kept on his shoulders.

"Are you hurt? Injured? What was the last thing you remember?" Yuna's curiosity was getting the better of her; but she reigned herself back.

"I'm sorry, It's just... I'm so relieved to see you."

She wiped her eyes with her wrist quickly as if hoping Tidus wouldn't see her do it at all. She swayed her weight from her ankles to her toes like she often did when she was nervous.

Awkward was an understatement.

A maid? Yuna was a maid. He had heard of servicing people and he knew helping was sort of in Yuna's nature, but a mand? Really? Tidus raised both brows at her.

"Your master?" His tone gave away all his confusion.

"D-Don't get the wrong idea!" She laughed nervously and used her free hand to indicate something small, "Master Ciel is only twelve."

There it was. Yuna's maternal instincts were all over this, and she oft tended the house like a mother would, though Ciel didn't care for it or require it at all. Turn-down service with a smooth pillow was as close as she could get to tucking him in, and attempting to make him happy with sweets or cakes, though Sebastian did most of the cooking for Ciel.

Being a maid allowed her to tend her domestic side, and she spent a great deal of time minding the garden and fussing with the floral arrangements in the Estate.

His eyes followed her hands when she indicated he was short, more implying based on his young years than anything else. Tidus nodded and glanced off to the side, wondering why he had jumped to that idea in the first place. It was Yuna, after all.

"Oh." He flashed a sheepish grin and returned his gaze to her. "He's lucky to have you looking after him." His words were genuine and before she had the chance to give it any consideration, he changed the subject.

"How much farther to this INN place?"

She laughed. Had he been...jealous? She shook the thought from her mind.

"He's a dear boy, if a bit stoic."

Yuna idly hopped from cobblestone to cobblestone, still holding his hand; the streets were emptying as the days' customers returned home for dinner and a good night's rest.

"It's right up here." The Marketplace wound off; the inns were sandwiched between the Market and the Residential district.

She had chosen the safest inn; and the Phantomhive Estate was not that far away. She held the door open for him and offered a hand.
