The Queen has stated she would like to better protect her citizens. I'll be damned if I don't support her wishes and work on this "Civil Defense Corps" that a few of you have suggested ( Read more... )

Civil defense...?

That's sort of what I did, back home, and I think I can help out... I just have a bit of a problem with energy...

Energy?

Uh, well... I'm a robot, and I run on a specific type of energy... usually there are tanks I can refill from back home, but there's nothing like that here.

It's easy to keep living normally, but if I wanna be able to fight properly I'm probably going to need a way to recharge...

I'm not a scientist so I wouldn't know anything about that.

My. And here I thought you were some form of mythical creature with what little I've seen and how much I've heard.
Hello, General. I don't know if you've heard of me, but I am Galatea.

I do not deal well with red tape, little missy, but I will serve the Queen until the end of my days. If it takes time, so be it.

And yes I have heard of you and it seems all of it is true.

[give her a minute, as she does not like the nickname. XD]
Too much time, but it can't be helped now.

I hope it's good things you've heard. Your men appear to be a little frightened of me.

Hopefully they were attending to more important matters.

It's about time these people heard something from someone of importance. I was beginning to think you were about as real as the riches apparently somewhere on this trash heap of an island.

Military.

Useless.

Next time I won't have my men ask politely to remove your pretty ship, we'll just commandeer the damn thing.

I'd like to see you try to pilot a ship in twenty thousand pieces, the technology of which you know absolutely nothing about.

Forgive my disrespect for military forces, general. My people have fallen into poverty and slavery because of forces either bloodthirsty for power, incredibly ill equipped, or uninterested in aiding their people.

It's all talk unless something actually happens. If you succeed, all the more power to you.

And I've been defending the city against a bloodthirsty-for-power GOD for over 75 years now.

General De Viers, sir!

M-my name is Seras Victoria and I recently graduated the police academy! I had a year or two of field experience before...er...transferring to a different division dealing with the supernatural!

I would be honored to become a part of the Civil Defense Corps! Thank you for your consideration, sir!

Qualifications, I see. That will serve you well if you can get through the basic training we'll be requiring of all new cadets.

What's in it for me?

Pay. Housing if you get to a certain rank. Access to weaponry and armor, if needed. Advanced training from a group of men who have spent generations focusing on becoming better fighters.

Sounds better than what I got. This place could use some protecting anyway.

The problem is a regular patrol of armed units rather than trying to mobilize the entire army on short notice.
