Mice With Swords. You Can't Go Wrong.

I have just been to watch the Prince Caspian film! I hadn't actually read the book, so there was an exciting element of not-knowing-what-was-going-to-happen I haven't had with many fantasy book-to-film adaptations. (Why haven't I read the book? I liked the four Narnia books I read when I was younger; why didn't I read the rest of them? Honestly, ( Read more... )

Noooo, Peter is awesome! I love Peter. He's just snotty and bossy because he's a kid who was once a king and a warrior and is now a kid again with an adult's memories. Gotta suck. I ♥ Peter. Plus William Moseley is very pretty.

Heh, that's a good point. Sorry, Peter; I'm probably being unfair to you. And he definitely got points from me for his distress after the Raid That Went Horribly Wrong. (Your icon is lovely!)

Thankee kindly!

I love the Narnia movies. I don't care how much they depart from the books (and I ADORED those books as a kid!), I love 'em anyway. And not just because William Moseley is so very pretty and thankfully not jailbait anymore!

...I just looked Moseley up, and he's older than me! I had no idea! YOUR FACE IS DECEITFUL, MOSELEY.

I quite like that the Narnia books are part of my childhood, but not gigantically, insanely important to me. It means that I can enjoy the Narnianess of the films without getting frustrated by alterations. Unlike, say, the Northern Lights adaptation and its colossal mistake of an ending.

I HAVEN'T SEEN IT YET, BUT I THINK I READ THE BOOK ONCE

and i swear the pevensies are in like EVERY OTHER NARNIA BOOK except, obvs, magician's nephew and the horse and his boy.

i liked ed much more after he got turned into a dragon. I SWEAR THIS ACTUALLY HAPPENED IN ONE BOOK AND I AM NOT JUST IMAGINING IT.

WE SHOULD WRITE SOME 'THE DESTINY ISLANDS KIDS ARE SIBLINGS' FIC. IT WOULD BE AWESOME. AND, AS WE ALL KNOW, INCEST IS MUCH MORE FUN THAN NORMAL SLASH. SORA/RIKU INCEST PLX?

I don't think there are any other books with all four Pevensies together, though. Alas!

I remember the turning-into-a-dragon! It was Eustace, wasn't it? APPARENTLY SLEEPING ON TOP OF DRAGON TREASURE WHILST HAVING GREEDY THOUGHTS TURNS ONE INTO A DRAGON. THIS SOUNDS LIKE HIGHLY FISHY SCIENCE TO ME.

I am weirdly tempted by the idea of writing Destiny Islands siblingfic. I have no idea what would actually happen in it, though. THE PLOT IS 'LOOK! THEY ARE SIBLINGS! ISN'T IT GREAT? OH DEAR PLEASE STOP KILLING ME 'SHIPPERS.'

ALAS.

and i knew someone turned into a dragon. YES, GREED TURNS YOU INTO A DRAGON. QUITE HOW THIS IS A DETERENT I DON'T KNOW. I QUITE FANCY BEING A DRAGON.

it would be amazing. and plot? WHAT IS THIS PLOT YOU SPEAK OF?

except, obvs, magician's nephew and the horse and his boy.

They butt in on the Horse and His Boy too. They're visiting the emperor-guy in Tashbaan; emperor-guy's son tries to kill Edmund and kidnap Susan to marry her, because killing her brother will have somehow endeared him to her. Apparently anyone not Narnian is incapable of logic.

I was always a little sad about it, because it was the only glimpse we had of them being all royal and Narnian - which was totally awesome enough to merit its own book! - and it was just a sort of side note. Bah.

I will uh. Stop butting in to other people's comment threads now. :)

- I thought that the person in pain in the first scene was Prince Caspian, so I was slightly bewildered when he gave birth.

HAHAHA marry me plz. :D

Eddie Izzard did Reepicheep's voice :) Awesome.

I was having very naughty thoughts about Edmund whilst watching that film...

I did not know this! That is indeed awesome.

Hee! Edmund looks a little too much like my little brother for any naughty thoughts on my part, I'm afraid.

Edmund has been my favorite since I read the first book when I was little. He was the third kid (like me) and was trying to break out and become his own little bratty person (like me) and was redeemed and stuff. (Er...)

I happen to completely love Peter and Edmund as brothers and can't stop reading fanfiction regarding the relationship. :-X DAMN BROTHERS! I SWEAR! IT'S ALWAYS FREAKING BROTHERS!

My friend was joking that she was going to dress up as Reepicheep when we go see the movie at a drive in this next Tuesday. Now she's going to be a princess like the rest of us. Disappointing. But another friend's boyfriend miiiight dress up like a princess too, and if that occurs, NOTHING ABOUT THAT NIGHT WILL BE DISAPPOINTING.

OHMIGAW DID YOU SEE THE FIRST ONE? THEY'RE MUCH MORE SIBLING-Y IN THAT ONE AND IT'S ADORABLE.

In conclusion.

I'm going to Narnia next week and you're totally invited. We will drag the Winchesters with us somehow and they will be so confused.

I really loved what we saw of the Peter-and-Edmund relationship in Prince Caspian. Edmund throwing himself at Peter's assailants in the tube station! The 'you've always been there, and - ' 'what the hell, no goodbye speeches' bit during the duel!

I did see the first film! All of the children were together during most of this one, though, which I approved of; Edmund was elsewhere during most of the first. And I think the actors feel more comfortable in their roles in Prince Caspian.

I look forward to meeting you in Narnia!

Yea, I might have squeaked a little when they had that little moment and my friend might have looked at me funny. But whatever, goddamn it, I was WAITING for that.

I think so too, and I'm hoping Ben Barnes gets more comfortable for the next film. :-X

Now you do know to find a wardrobe to get there, right? Since we're not personal friends of Aslan's or anything just yet.
