I'll admit that last one is my big fat bias showing through - cos I'm fannishly devoted to poor Joe Faxon and always thought Jack was a bit of a jerk in 2010 (I've been writing my Joe epic and he's on my brain at the moment :P)

Love all of these. You really got inside their heads. I think I'm going to print these out and put them in a note book somewhere. They deserve to be kept because they were beautifully done.

It's quite interesting writing him - because there's not really a whole heap of canon to go on for his characterisation, it's almost like writing an OC. :P
And aww, Thank you!

Plus it's Sam and Daniel - I love that dynamic :D
I still have 5 seasons to go... and about a bajillion fanfics I could do them for (I wonder if people would let me do that?)

It's about the memory connected with it. It represents the tangible side to a moment in time, or a feeling.
I'm the kind of person who collects and preserves these kind of scraps from my own life, so in some ways this set of fics is becoming quite personal.

I do this, too. Although usually after a time, I let go of the pieces, or, put them somewhere--a notbook, or a folder, or something. And it's usually paper--not flowers, or trinkets.
I think I like these so much because it covers so many moments--good, bad, funny, sad--I LOVE the sheet of paper with their feats from "Upgrades." Cracks me up every time.

Oh I do this too! I'm not a scrapbooker, but I tend to file them away in boxes that are then put in storage. It's mostly paper - napkins with scribbles on them, the menu from a restaurant in Seattle, bus tickets - you name it.
It's funny because on Friday I went to the talk from our latest artist in residence and he works with these discarded scraps from people's lives. I loved it so much, that he found this ethereal way to evoke the memory of the past.

Yup, because that's how my collection is. Some of the pieces make me cry, because they're associated with painful things, but I hold on to them because they're still important to me.

I'm really trying hard not to cry
(BTW you!..the rodneyfic won't bloody well let go)

They're certainly very rewarding to make. I like to think about the kinds of things that they'd be likely to hold on to.
