[The concept of "transformation" isn't foreign to this one - it's a spell available to very few and used by even fewer, but magical shapeshifting is not out of the realm of possibility.
Neither is teleportation, though...Ondorus is pretty sure it doesn't quite work this way.
It's the absence of Rune that really alarms him, and after the initial shock of being unable to use magic of any kind he sets out to investigate whatever he can.
Facts: He is now a non-humanoid monster. He is not only not in Norad, but in a world which has never even been hypothesized. If he has any magical abilities, he does not know how to use them. There appears to be a road leading to what can only be a habitation.
[Fortunately(???), there is some kind of bird flying low over the road. When he spots the bespectacled Nidorino, he lands gracefully and raises the tip of his left wing's longest feather to the hatlike feathers on his head.]
Good day, sir! Would you be new here, by any chance?
[ this...was not quite what he was expecting. instead of waking in his simple bed, it appears he's somehow found himself in a large, green field, and not any field he recognizes. but when did he fall asleep in the first place? if he could just recall the previous day...
... or he could concentrate on the fact that, when trying to push himself off the ground, he simply floated up. his hands weren't his own but in fact little, very little, stubs. oh dear.
as always, ion remains calm as he floats (a strange term he's quickly getting used to, oddly enough) through the garden, soon approaching and then entering the village where he is directed to the bulletin. well, he might as well take a look. he'll need to see if anise had come here, too. ]
[If Ion happens to be looking around at some point, he might notice that there is a certain Torchic stumbling around - with emphasis on stumbling. His legs are sort of shaky, as if he's not used to walking like this at all. Unfortunately, he's a little too absorbed in his own predicament to really notice Ion, even as he's walking close by.
He's also muttering to himself a little, though what is probably the most noticable is the way there's a tuft of feathers that stick out of the back of his head, reminiscent of a certain duckbutt hairdo Ion might be familiar with.
That, and the little black demon face on the white scarf that he's wearing.]
[ if not the hair, it's the unique little demon face that he'd be able to recognize anywhere. ion turns his gooey body, curious by the muttering he hears and then the strange-looking bird that crosses his vision. there certainly were many different types of creatures in this land, weren't there?
but that design...could it be? he leaves the bulletin board to pursue the bird, calling out in a hopeful voice. ] Luke! Luke, is it you?
[Looking left, looking right, where could he... wait... wait, was it that... thing, or whatever it was? He... he had been turned into this bird-thing, so maybe the creature in front of him...
Seeing the little tuning-fork pendant is what seals it.]
[Of all the things to find on the Katsbert Ferry... that thing, whatever it'd been. And then there'd been voices in his head, only they didn't sound like Asch or Lorelei, and they didn't even give him a headache like usual. And then he'd blacked out and now...
Something wasn't right.
He opened his eyes.
He was way too close to the ground. The way he was pressed against it was all wrong. Things just didn't feel right? He glanced left and right, trying to get a sense for how the movement seemed different. Wait a sec, were those feathers?!]
What the hell-?!
[He tried to leap to his feet, only to stumble, and quickly end up face-first in the dirt, coughing and spluttering. Okay, so that didn't go so well...]
[By the pattern of things...it's safe to assume that many here are unused to their new body shapes.
...He would try to help the small bird thing up, but he's not really sure how this four-legs thing works and would like to avoid falling over as well. Ahaha...ha.]
[Some part of him wants to snap - does he look all right to you? But right now, the larger part of him is still trying to figure out what the hell is going on...
Carefully he stretches his legs out, getting used to the movement, before turning his head to see... Wait, was that who was talking to him...? What the hell was this!?]
[Mr. H woke up with a loud yawn and a small laugh as he realized he slept with his sunglasses on again. He chuckled at himself again, before trying to take them off, to make sure the frames weren't bent or anything.
Instead all he manged to do was knock them off with his purple paws and fall flat on his face.
Wait...paws?]
What the hey?
[It was then he noticed, that he wasn't in Shibuya anymore. Not in Shibuya at all.]
[Picking up glasses is one of the few things that Ondorus has figured out how to do. He snags them by the bridge on the tip of his horn, holding them out to the small cat monster.]
[He didn't know what to expect death to be like. When he opened his eyes, at first, he thought that he was still on the school rooftop. But no, he knew he wasn't. He was lying in soft grass in some cooling shade.
Ah, it was nice. He remembered he had pledged his soul to protecting the world until it no longer needed him, but didn't quite know how that was supposed to work. If it meant that he could just lounge in this meadow for the rest of eternity, well, that was just fine with him.
Since he's dead, he doesn't have to do anything right? This means he didn't have to get up, right?
[WHAT? Noooooo, how could you, headphone bro!? Minato opens one eye and slowly, reluctantly, pushes himself up to a sitting position.
...oh. Those aren't his arms. Those aren't his feet, either. They're all very stubby and clearly not those of a human. He turns his attention to whoever was talking to him and...oh, he's never seen a creature like that before.
It's kind of like a Bai Ze, isn't it? He read about those in a book once.]

That's one way to put it. Are..."newcomers" that common?

Ah - I'm sorry if I startled you. My name is Ondorus - you seemed a bit unsteady, and I was concerned.
[Ondorus takes a step back.]

Haha! Thanks, boss!
