I liked the other pic, too, Ric! Totally cool how the out-of-focus enhanced the rest of the pic. Thanks for sharing your talents! Later - g

so you stayed on your side of the pond? I heard that Hurricane Ridge is still too early and the road to Deception Point is still closed with snow. I'm due photographing along that road and Lillian Ridge at the end... Would you suggest Baker north side? and if not where/when?

the big glass is here and awesome... now, all the birds have become scarce but I'm looking.

Peace

Congrats on the big glass. I may try t ohit Hurrican this coming weekend. I think everything is 1-2 weeks behind last year. Tipsoe lake still had snow on it late last week I guess.
I think the N side of Baker will still be pretty snowy, right before or when they open up the road to Artist Point may be the right time for there.

Last week, we saw the same type snow conditions at Rainier as they are having at Baker. There's a possibility that an early frost will negate any good wildflower bloom if the snow hangs on even a couple weeks longer.

This coming weekend is the Lavender Festival at Sequim so you might want to include that in your trip to Hurricane Ridge. I've run into one of those too many things to do in my schedule in the next couple weeks and am torn between work at Mount Tahoma Trails (where there might be volunteer support for some of my projects), the Sequim lavender bloom (I've planned but missed it four years), a trip to Bird Creek Meadows on the se side of Mt Adams on the Yakama Reservation (the road is open only two months and incredibly dusty in August but as it has the same sort of conditions as Paradise--but without the crowds--it probably has deep snow), and other wildflower peak blooms on intermediate height locations on the east slopes. Decisions, decisions...
