I sacrificed the uniformity of the circle in order to create this in a more frame pleasing 8x12 print. I also added the center flower.
The ugly stamp will obviously come off the finished product.

The Western Pasqueflower, Anemone occidentalis, AKA Towhead baby or Old-man-of-the- mountains is probably more pronounced in this captured seed head stage. As large as a golf ball, the seed heads are soft to the touch and invite a little "squeeze" when walking past them.

Bear Grass or Indian Basket Grass. Xerophyllum tenax. 
This member of the Lily family, and not a grass at all, blooms perhaps every 5 or 6 years.
Taken from the Naches Loop trail July 31st 2007 just off of Chinook Pass. One of the best trails in the Rainier National Park.

Went to see my mom this weekend and stopped by Steptoe Butte for some outstanding peak wildflowers. The Lupine was a thick as I've ever seen it there. The I-90 pass had great color east of Cleelum as well.

The red on the shack looks pretty unatural in this web version. It's color corrected for printing and looks great on paper...I was too lazy to correct it for web viewing. 12x18 or 8x12 format.
