((A. Action, early morning, 1124 Taylor Rd))

[This is not the end of the world.

This cannot be the end of the world. Thor knows what the end of the world will bring, has always known how his end would come. This is no deep winter, the armies of the dead do not walk the streets (this time), and his brother is not here. This is not Ragnarok ( Read more... )

[ A little girl, determined and bloodied, and clad in bandages, scraps of clothing, and not much else, looks up at him ]

... I remember you. Glad to see you're alive.

[It takes him a moment for recognition to dawn - it's been some time since he spoke with her, and neither of them is exactly in peak condition. But a little of the wariness leaves his expression when he puts a name to her face.]

Yukari.

[But he's all business now.]

Are you wounded?

Just a little, but I've been through worse. [ LIke the time her mom ran her through with a spear. ]

Mostly just a little bit of pain and itching.

Good.

[He's all business, no friendly smile on his face.]

Is anything in this city still standing?

Oh, hey. Morning, dad.

[Beast Boy perches atop a piece of rubble in a frog-like manner, hands between his feet. He looks ready to spring away.]

[Thor whirls, a chunk of debris in his hand ready to fling - and stops when he recognizes That Boy. So he's not dead, either. He lowers his hand, letting the rock fall to the ground.]

You're alive! What's happened here, boy?

[And... Beast Boy springs like a skittish frog, landing on another piece of rubble nearby.]

...Dude. Can you please stop almost hitting me?

Your guess is as good as mine. Looks like Mayfield exploded.

I can see that! What could have leveled it while we slept?

[He is rather disappointed in himself over this - he cannot believe he didn't at least wake up.]

...Are you wounded, boy?

B. HAY THOR HAY dearmungandr November 27 2011, 03:16:45 UTC
[Jormungandr is wandering the wreckage, his hands in his pockets, gently nudging at pieces of debris with his foot, easily climbing and navigating through piles of rubble. He's looked at the bodies and charred shadows with great interest. He's never seen such destruction before.

He wonders if this what Ragnarok will look like.

And then he sees Thor, and with thoughts of Ragnarok still fresh in his mind he tenses for a moment. Then he realizes that no matter what happens, at the moment he still has the upper hand.

Now doesn't really seem the time for such stupid fights, though.

Whenever Thor might spot him, Jormungandr will be standing off to the side, hands still in his pockets, looking strangely relaxed and at ease, though clearly disturbed by what he sees around him.]

[It doesn't matter if it's the right end of the world or not. Having Jormungandr standing around in any apocalypse is just... unsettling. Thor spots him from a distance - it's not hard to make out his lanky form among the shorter heaps of rubble.

His grip tightens around the lead pipe in his hand as he approaches.]

Of course you would survive this.

[He tenses slightly at the sight of the pipe, but otherwise Jormungadr seems not to move much. He tilts his head slightly to the side, eying Thor, watching him carefully.]

I have not the time to do battle with you, Serpent.

[Because this is not the battle. It would be only a shallow farce of the fight they will have when the world truly ends.]

I seek the enemy that leveled this realm. Have you seen any signs that point to where it came from?

[Despite being neighbors, Marisa doesn't cross paths with Thor until fairly late in the day. She has a bed sheet banner on a broken wooden pole she scavenged with a sigil painted on it. She's using it as a walking stck, partially supporting herself, and a fairly intact pack is slung over her shoulder as she walks with purpose.]

Yo.

[First thought: Witch.

Second thought: ...Wounded.

Wounded wins out. Thor stops.]

You are injured.

For now. But you'll not find safety like that.

[He offers her his hand.]

Come with me. I seek a safe haven for all those who survived the first onslaught, and I will not rest until I have found it.

[Dakki was out on what was more or less a supply run, toting a patched-together shopping bag in one hand and a bent length of metal piping with the other. She's dirty, and wearing a torn dress, and looks exceptionally unladylike.

But she's lucid, today. She's paying attention. And she spots Thor and properly identifies him, and calls out.]

Thor! Good to see you're still standing!

[Hey! They're getting better at this! Thor recognizes her on the first go, too, and doesn't even move toward her with intent to hit her!]

And you, Dakki! Are you wounded?

[Their interactions are coming along nicely! And it's not like she's wearing a bird suit today.]

No. I'd hardly call some scratches "wounded". The people I've found are mostly dirty and confused, but not badly hurt.

[She lifts her shopping bag slightly.] How are you doing for supplies?

We have pulled what we can from the ruin of the hall - there is enough yet there for two days or more, if we are sparing. Much has been spoiled or crushed, but there is enough to sustain the wounded.
