New Year's Eve

I have seven splendid choices before me this evening:

dreary horsey party:
dreary other party, involving six-mile minibus journey:
dreary dated Life of Brian or ghastly dated  Graham Norton on TV (both were deadly boring after the first ten minutes, even before they got dated!):
reading a backlog of newspapers:
making the ninth or twelfth attempt at ( Read more... )

prawns, absent friends, computers, writer's block, household, books, tv

Please give her my fond regards.

We are coming back to the UK this summer but will only be in Scotland. The exchange rate is murderous and we can't stretch our trip out to include the beautiful North Wales or we would definitely stop by to see her (and you, too, if you should wish.)

Happy New Year to you!
I'm sorry that I don't reply to you more often - because I don't know how - but I send you many positive and affectionate thoughts every time I pass Bangor Focus and when I'm reading Ransome.

Happy New Year. And why not catch up on something you missed on BBC iPlayer? It seems to be All Good Stuff. Or there might have been a radio programme you would have liked?

Why not indeed - if I had any idea what this is?

It's the BBC's latest clever thing whereby you can watch programmes you have missed for up to a week after they were shown. You watch on your computer - go to http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer and you can just be watching in a couple of clicks (there is a download option so you can go and watch in bed, if you have a laptop, but it does streaming video as well, too). Rather like you've always been able to listen to radio programmes you've missed.

Remarkable! What will they think of next? Thank you very much
Oddly, I can will now be able to do this. My laptop isn't up to that - but the group has at last raised the resources for a new desktop - the only snag at present is that we can't persuade it to go on line. Sigh!
