I know what you mean about (often younger) women being unwilling to call themselves a feminist nowadays. There's a woman on a westerns forum I'm a member of: she tells us of her interest in the role that women played in the expansion of the west, thinks that it is underrated, and has used strong, female leads in her short stories. Then she started one post about women's role in history not being fully reported, by saying: "I''m not a feminist, but..." I replied, being as polite as I could manage. I pointed out that the very subjects she was interested in were feminist. I think I also pointed out a few of the things that she should be grateful to feminists for - like the right to own our own property, for a start. I picked up a neat little book a few years ago, called Feminism For Teenagers. It's done in a breezy style, with illustrations, but it really makes the point about what differences feminism has made. So many things that are taken for granted now. More people should read it.
That's it, if you don't like the connotations of the word "feminist", claim it anyway and make sure that henceforth it means "intelligent woman who just wants what is fair".
The turning point for me in awareness of feminism was undoubtably The Famous Five books. I still burn with zealous outrage when I think of those stories even now. *You're almost as good as a boy* etc etc. GRRRRRR!!!
They don't! vegetables and pulses are really cheap, much cheaper than processed crap. You do need to know how to cook them though. I get really annoyed with people whinging that they have to eat KFC every night because they can't afford a bag of carrots. grrr!

I had an elder brother. Any self respecting little sister should be a feminist!

Macrame is at least a skill, making unhealthy puddings which will lead to obesity does not seem like a bonus.
