It was sunny this afternoon, and the temperature warmed up into the mid 20s (about -4 C.), which was a huge improvement over the -8 degrees (-22 C.) that we had a few days ago. So, I decided that I should get out of the house and enjoy it. The roads were still miserable, which meant that I didn't travel very far. Here are my pictures from a cold ( Read more... )

Looks like a beautiful day. :)
As annoying as snow is, it can be very pretty. :)
Hugs, Jon

It was a beautiful day, Jon! :-)
But still too cold to be comfortable with the strong wind.

Yeah, the snow can be beautiful if you can take the time to enjoy it. But it certainly does not make for pleasant driving!

*hugs*

Thanks for the chili recipe!!

We're moving into another deep freeze today and tomorrow after a day where we got up to 40. The forecast for tomorrow has a high of 0 here in the Twin Cities.

Keep warm! Stay healthy!

Big HUGS!

You're welcome!
:-)

It looks like your weather has moved over here! And we are expecting the temperatures to stay below freezing for the next week!

I hope my furnace is up to the task!

*big hugs*

It was -15 degrees when I walked Bella at 7am. I ordered booties for her 13 days ago; but, they haven't even been shipped yet. She definitely could use them in this frigid blast.

Stay Warm, Stay healthy, Stay safe!

Yeah, Neil, Minnesota gets a lot colder than the Syracuse area.

As a temporary solution, you may be able to cut the fingers off an old glove and make them into booties for Bella. You may need rubber bands to hold them on. But maybe her paws are too big for this idea.

I can't get over how cold it gets there, despite being further south than us. Thank goodness for the Gulf Stream! Still no snow where I am this winter.

The chilli looks great.

The chilli looks great.

Thanks, Mark! :-)

The US coast along the Atlantic benefits from the Gulf Stream, so New York City, Long Island, Connecticut and Massachusetts all have milder temperatures. Also, the ocean acts as a heat sink because it never gets as cold as the air temperatures. But, Syracuse is too far inland to get those benefits. Fortunately our temperatures don't get as cold as the states in the Great Plains, like Minnesota.

I have already spent a small fortune paying guys to shovel snow at my house and the rental properties.
