My advice is to stand up and walk around on the plane every couple hours or so; or else your legs, ankles, and feet (much like mine did) will swell up and become hideously uncomfortable. If you do end up with swollen up lower extremeties hobble your way to the bathroom plop yourself down on the seat and try to rub some circulation back into them :)
um... Bring some shoes that you can easily slip on and off; snacks are good to have with you, airline food only goes so far; books are your friends; try to sleep, it seems to pass time the fastest.
There are places (atleast in the international termanals I landed in) to change your money if you want to, airport exchange rates (much like everything else in an airport) are hideously overpriced. I wouldn't worry too much about doing that though, because most ATM's I've seen over here take Master Cards.
I'll call you later tonight, which will be this afternoon your time, to iron out some wrinkles, get you my cell number and all that stuff. :)
