For some reason, JK always called him Lupin, which I thought was so...distant. Anyway!

I would like to ask you guys' your own opinions about the authenticity of their relationship. I shipped them before they were canon, so my pov may be biased, but one can hope that all you puppy-shippers can give your 'Sirius loved Remus and Remus loved him!' ( Read more... )

I agree 100%. I never got the insistence that Remus and Tonks weren't together during (before?) HBP, she wouldn't have been *that* upset if they weren't screwing, or did not have deeper feelings for each other than friendship, and Lupin was obviously pining for her during the Christmas at the Burrow scene.

I haven't thought about fandom in years, let alone have a clue what's going on, so it's still surprising that some R/S shippers trip over R/T. I do wonder how R/S fandom will react; will they be happy that Lupin and Sirius are together again, angry that Remus is a breeder, both, or none of the about?

Also, here I would like to add that Sirius having pictures of bikini-clad Muggle girls in his room also does not disprove past Remus/Sirius. I offer myself as a living example: I prefer looking at girls. I prefer touching boys.

No kidding. What his having girlie posters proves is that: he had girlie posters. He could be bi, or gay and but still likes looking at girls, a closet case, ect.

Never did ship Remus/Tonks (I can't help but find Tonks/MadEye hot) but I've never seen how the fact of it stands in the way of fanfiction. Slash fiction that doesn't need to contradict canon no less.

I love you! :D I've written that, and people are almost always like "WHAT?! D: WHY?!" Tsk. Moody is such an underappreciated character when it comes to smut. (zomg, Remus/Moody -- y/mfy?!) XD

Oh, yeah. I seem to find that Sirius/Remus fics, in general, are better written than Remus/Tonks ones (and for some reason I can write RLSB ones quite easily), but in my heart of hearts I never really thought that the boys were a genuine couple (at least in JK's world).

If Remus didn't love Tonks, there is absolutely no way he would have gone through all that freakin' emotional turmoil for her.

Since she was introduced in OotP, I've loved Remus/Tonks. In fandom, I've totally eaten up R/T art and fic. But I've never been able to write it myself. A friend of mine and I actually tried to write all the off-screen stuff through RPing. I just could not do it. It felt so utterly wrong. My Remus was just screaming, "No! I can't do this to her!" But now that I've read DH and seen that the little Remus muse in my head was acting ... precisely how JRo ended up writing him ... I think we may be able to go back and start over and write that off-screen story thoroughly. And hopefully well. XD

I've honestly never had any feelings about Remus/Tonks, beyond that if they got together that they'd be happy 'cause Remus deserves it. (We saw how well that worked out).

I never saw a conflict either. I love Sirius/Remus. You can like who you like, and honestly, there's compelling reasons for both, so just read or write whatever you want. If I don't like it, I won't read it.

I always liked Tonks as a character though. She seemed really fun to be around, so I could buy that Remus loved her partly because she was so fun and energetic. (Kinda like how I imagine Sirius, actually.)

I've been a Remus/Tonks shipper since... well... way before than when HBP came out.
I definitely think they're perfect for each other, therefore all the bashing pisses me off!
I lurve Remus/Sirius as well, esp. Marauder!Remus and Marauder!Sirius. And, once again, this couple is a perfect example of how opposites attract. ^^
But anything's fine if it includes our wolfie, even Remus/Fenrir is okay (D:).
