Oh, I adore this play on the original, and “Shut up, Rodney, I’m trying to be magical here.” is *seriously* priceless. I can picture him sleepily saying this so perfectly.

I can hear him saying it too, and I must give full credit to thingswithwings for coming up with the line that I stole. :) Specifically, John's drug-induced comments reference the following stories:

- The "Fair Trade" series by esteefee (John owns a coffee shop)
- The infamous multiple John-and-Rodney-as-penguins fics (scroll down for links) begun by Leah and continued by many
- "Junk Cheap" by devildoll (John owns a junk shop)
- "But Where Would They Live?" by thingswithwings (John is a rainbow and Rodney is a unicorn. I'm not even kidding.)
