APPEARANCE: Have a picture. Long wavy blonde hair, pale skin and dark, piercing eyes, she's undeniably pretty. She tends to draw lots of (unwanted) attention, though some people are bothered by her eyes. Aside from her good looks, she's short and waifish, even seeming a bit frail and probably not in very good health. She also has an overwhelming love of gothic lolita clothing. (Emooo.)
PERSONALITY: "I don't want it. A world that doesn't want me. I don't need it.If someone were to pick two words to describe Kaoru, they would probably be thus: "fucked up." She has not had the easiest life, to say the least. PERSONALITY cont'd: She's not all bad though! Maybe. There's a softer side, if it can be called that, somewhere buried under all the hate, but don't expect to get to it easily. Or at all. Kaoru is incredibly paranoid and suspicious of everyone, constantly making harsh judgments at the slightest offense. She's utterly baffled by any attempts at kindness, simply because she truly, honestly believes that no one could ever like her; that no one should, and rightfully. But the truth is that beneath all the anger and contempt she presents she is a just hurt, lonely little girl. She's scared; of the world, of other people, of herself. It is not true maliciousness that motivates her, but rather a lifetime of rejection and pain. If you spent your whole life being told that you shouldn't have been born, what choice do you have but to believe it

AU HISTORY cont'd: While they initially seemed to be a perfect little family from the outside, things only got worse as the years went by. By the time Kaoru was ten, her father had already left them, abandoning the girl and her "crazy" mother. This only served to strengthen her mother's insistence that Kaoru was no good, blaming her for her husband leaving. Shortly thereafter "no good" turned to "evil." In so many words; Kaoru's mother eventually became convinced that her daughter was the devil. She continued to treat the girl with terror and disgust, but she also began to lash out, screaming at her for the slightest infraction, locking her out of the house or disappearing for days at a time just to get away from the demon she'd given birth to

AU HISTORY cont'd: He did the best he could with the constantly angry girl, but it was a challenge. She wouldn't go back to school anywhere in the area, but if her life was ever going to become something resembling normal, she needed an education. Since there was nothing left for her in Japan, perhaps a drastic change was needed. After considering the options, Kuga decided to send her to Reims. It was an excellent school, more than qualified to make up for the months she had missed. It was also practically as far from Tokyo and her old life as it could possibly be. And considering the wide range of students the school accepted, she couldn't possibly stand out that much, which was the last thing she needed
