[It starts with Fuji eying a pokeball contemplatively. He gets up from his seat, apparently entirely unaware that the feed is running, and turns to the side as though addressing someone else in the room just beyond the scope of the video feed --]

-- say, could I borrow a screwdriver?

[The feed abruptly ends ( Read more... )

Ah, I think I just heard the sound of a volunteer.

The sound of your own voice, maybe.

You're right, I like hearing myself speak.

Huh? I never thought about what went on inside the Pokeball things. I just assumed they were snug and comfy, and that they probably slept. But I guess for people who keep them in the balls all the timey time, that would be a whole lot of sleep!

Not to mention that the pokemon are generally several times smaller than the pokeball itself. I wonder what it feels like, to shrink up into a little ball of light like that.

I wonder! Ooooh! Maybe if it's some alternatey dimensioney type thing-a-ma-jig it's like a super tiny small micro dimension. If you tried to put one these hue-muns in it, they might be SUPER GIGCANTIC!

[A laugh.] You're right, it could be! But pokemon seem to like it a lot -- or at least they don't mind it. Maybe there's some sort of a pokemon amusement park in that alternate dimension.

I took one apart not long after I first got here. Unfortunately, I didn't find out much more than you did.

I'm willing to bet that yours didn't end up as a smear on the wall. [Rue.] Technology really isn't my forte.

Not exactly. I managed to get it back together--I'm pretty sure it's the one I keep Emma in now.

[A Chatot fluttered over to his shoulder at the mention of her name, whistling.]

That's okay, I've had plenty of things short-circuit while I was working on them.

[Oh, it's a parrot. Hello, pretty birdy =D] Ah, I haven't seen a pokemon like her before. What is she?

And it's good to know that I'm not the only one. Any particular notable stories you'd be willing to share? Given what happened this morning, I wouldn't mind a little consolation. [He's just joking, really, but he's always up for an interesting story.]

That's an interesting theory.

[He hadn't thought about it - pokéballs acting as portals to another dimension.]

It seems unlikely, but in this world it's not fair to dismiss anything. Did you find anything out from attempting to disassemble it other than an electrical shock?

[insert rue here] Ah, well, I think I should have mentioned that the short-circuiting only happened the second time around.

The first time I tried to pry it open, it ended up as a smear on the wall. [a pause] The black smear, not the suspicious-looking purple one.

[...hang on while he looks at said smears and then looks back at you very curiously.]

How did that happen?

The black one? Apparently, pokeballs don't like screwdrivers on principle. I just wish I knew this before I started poking at it.

As for the purple one-- [a shrug] Salt Lake City is just very, very lazy.

To be honest, I was a little surprised that you remembered-- I only vaguely remembered mentioning it.

Now I can see why it's a shame that your pokemon can't enjoy your cooking.

[ He won't comment on his freakish memory for this stuff. It's never really occured to him as being special--he just pays more attention than most. ]

Well now I have Hanabi & she's my taste tester. (~^∀^~) Shes so cute w/ her little tails.

Im happy your pokemon enjoyed it as well. None of them got sick?

[Tails, huh. Probably a vulpix.]

She sounds adorable. A vulpix?

And not at all. The only casualty was Paris, who ate too much -- which I think is nice, since he usually doesn't eat at all.
