[The camera is in the girl's quarters on board the Thousand Sunny, pointed straight at the door. The door opens, and you see Vivi dressed in this shirt, her hair in bunches carefully positioned at an identical height around her face ( Read more... )

Beautiful!

Only next time, try doing it in eight steps rather than seven.

Ah, I didn't consider the number of steps, I'm sorry.

There is quite a lot to think about, though. I may just try drawing or something to pass time, instead.

The number of steps is not important usually. However, if you can achieve eight steps, go for eight.

Drawing can be quite the enjoyable pastime as well.

I'll try and remember. You like the number eight a lot, don't you?

I haven't really drawn properly in a long time, but it would be nice to try again.

You hair looked kind of cute like that, Vivi-chan.

Thank you, Levi-san. Maybe I should wear it like that more often.

I'm not going to go to the trouble of making sure I have exactly equal amounts of hair in each of them again, though. There's too much effort involved in consciously being symmetrical.

You went to all that effort? That's pretty impressive!

I thought that if I was going to do it, I may as well do it properly. It made Kid smile, at least. Hopefully it will put him off redecorating the whole ship for a while...

...Why-or do I even want to know.

Kid suggested that I take up the hobby of - how did he put it? - creating perfect symmetry when I enter a room.

...I'm not sure it's worth it, though.

...I don't think that even counts as a real hobby. So probably not.

I did think it sounded a bit strange for a hobby when Kid suggested it to me. ...I feel silly now.

Well, I used to enjoy drawing. I'm thinking of asking Brook-san for music lessons, actually, to pass the time; I used to take instrumental tuition as a child and I'm happy to have the opportunity to pick it up again.

I think the main thing that I enjoy doing, though, is just being with everyone and travelling around. Being able to exchange my culture with the new islands we come across is how I get the most enjoyment. It's just while we're at sea that I need something.

Thank you. And I remember you mentioning the painting - that was just before I came back, wasn't it?

I play the piano, harp and flute, but only a little. I'm thinking of taking flute lessons at the moment. It will be something that I enjoy, and which will bring me a sense of accomplishment; I'm looking forward to starting.

That's a good idea. I do train, but not nearly as much as I ought to. I should try and get into more of a routine with it.

...what kind of hobby is that?

I don't know, it seemed like a good idea at the time. I think Kid's idea of what constitutes a hobby is quite different from the rest of us.

Mm. Yeah, I could've told you that. Are you looking for a new hobby, Vivi?

Yes, just something to pass the time while we're at sea. I'm thinking of asking Brook-san for flute lessons, and I might buy some art pencils at the next island we stop at, too.
