#42 Blueberry Hill - Saturday Morning

Nov 10, 2007 11:56

A very cheerful Marie was whistling as she cooked breakfast this morning.

Her hair was damp and pulled back in a ponytail, she was wearing jeans and a tee-shirt but had barefeet.

It was entirely possible that her housemates would have heard she and Jack sharing a shower this morning, but she really didn't care.

Dean wasn't even going to bother to talk until he had his coffee.

He was barely bothering to try to be able to see.

That, and he was also dressed only in a pair of jeans and came out of the study, not down the stairs.

Getting his coffee involved a fair amount of fumbling with things, bumping into things, and wincing. Rather a lot of that last bit. And glaring squinty-eyed daggers at Marie.

"Morning!" Marie chirped. "There's coffee. I'm making eggs, pancakes and bacon. What would you like?"

Dean flapped a hand at her frantically, while the other one clutched at the side of his head. "Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! For the love of god, woman, shut up,"

Marie turned from the stove and gave him a curious look. "What's wrong?"

Usually it was the woman who took her time getting ready in the morning but Jack had a bit more clothing to hunt up than a tee-shirt and jeans.

Greatcoat hooked over one arm, he came trotting down the stairs also fresh from what was by no means a quiet shower. The waistcoat was neatly buttoned and he was busy hooking the watch chain into position as he stepped into the kitchen, following the scent of coffee and also in a perfectly chipper mood this morning.

"Good morning!"

And despite the fact that he'd been awake to hear people come careening through the door in the way only those who are drunk can, his voice was not pitched to be kind to hungover heads.

Marie smiled and handed him a cup of coffee. "Morning. Again."

"Morning, again," he returned with a warm smile and a wink. Taking the coffee cup with a delighted noise, he leaned over to press a chaste -compared to last night- but warm and gentle kiss against the corner of her mouth.

It was probably a good thing that it was a relatively chaste kiss, because at this point, Marie would probably not be able to walk if they tried to have sex again.

"Breakfast?" she asked.

"Somebody," Sam said distinctly, his expression halfway between a smirk and a pout, "is in a good mood today. Wonder why?"

"Morning, Sam," Marie greeted, wondering if he was gonna pull the semi-jealous routine Dean had pulled. "Eggs, pancakes, bacon?"

"Yes please," he said, and cleared his throat. "How do you have the energy to do this right now?"

"What do you mean?" Marie asked. "I'm feeling great this morning."

Piper wandered into the kitchen and immediately groaned at all the cheerfulness.

"Morning," she muttered, reaching for the coffee.

Sam just glanced over at her, and smirked slightly.

"What?" Piper asked, clearly not in the best mood ever.

"Rough night, huh?" asked Sam, mock-innocently.

Phoebe noticed the cheerfulness... and so did her empathy.

She came in and made a cup of coffee.

"Have fun?" She said with a smile at Marie.

Like she didn't hear...

"You could say that," Marie smiled back. "You're smiling, so I'm guessing you're not hungover?"

"For once... I was not trying to drown myself in tequila. I got a job, though."

"Congratulations," Marie said, putting her spatula down so she could hug Phoebe. "Where? Doing what?"
