Piper was sitting outside, enjoying quiet Sunday. Since it had been raining off and on, she stayed up on the porch. Matthew was asleep in his babyseat, unaware of the rain.
There wasn't much to complain about at the moment.
Piper was, once again, at home with the baby. She didn't have anything else to do, but she was very much okay with just staying home to be a mom for a little while.
She sat on the couch and smiled down at Matthew, grateful that Meg trusted her to be his mother.

Piper had considered asking her mother or Veronica or someone to watch Matthew while she went into work for a few hours. She hadn't really left the house since she brought him home and figured she could go in a few hours a week. But as she picked the phone up to call someone to watch him, he started to cry

Piper knew there was a picnic going on in town today, but she opted to stay home with Matthew. Even though he was home now, he was still a preemie which meant he needed extra care and attention. With that came extra worry and concern. She really wasn't ready to leave him, yet. It would be awhile before she could bring him out to meet people at town

Piper was pleasantly surprised when she had arrived at the clinic today. The nurses told her Matthew was doing well enough that she could hold him for a few minutes. She could feel tears of joy forming as one of the nurses gently took him out of the incubator and placed him into her arms. This was definite proof that he was going to be fine

Piper was, yet again, at the clinic. She was tired and cranky from the hangover she was currently dealing with. Maybe drowning her sorrows last night was not the best plan, especially when she was caught by a former student. Oops

When Piper left the clinic this time, she decided late evening after closing seemed like an appropriate time to check on the restaurant. Or maybe she decided she deserved a drink after this whole crazy emotional week. Yeah, that definitely seemed like a good plan. She was stressed and tired.
