Just rewatching SV season 2. I've come across the unequivocal moment that could not possibly say it any louder to Clark that he and Chloe are meant to be.
It's in Visitor. When Clark and Chloe are having a discussion about Cyrus.

Clark says to Chloe 'You don't think he's really an alien do you?"
Chloe: *thinks about it a moment* ...No, but wouldn't

This is possibly my favorite SV moment with Chloe and her feelings on aliens. No matter how many times they've tried to retcon Lana into being pro-alien, I always come back to this scene and what her underlying feelings are and can never understand why Clark persists in liking her.

Actually, I think that the ending Chlana confrontation in "Wrath" is a favorite pro-Chlark moment even though it could be read as friendship. I see the contrast so clearly between Lana (cruelty and vengeance) and Chloe (justice and caring) and it's obvious to me that Chloe's the girl he should end up with.

Just finished reading it, thanks for the link it was well worth the time. You got the Lana context driven dialogue down perfectly. It was very succinct and completely rational (whereas some fics I've read can become a little extreme in the 'why Clana will never work' dialogue that pushes it to the edge of credibility). Clark's introspective moping was good too in that it wasn't just 'woe is me' type stuff but more showing his thought processes and his awareness of certain facets of his life that he'd previously been blind to. Excellent writing. Feel free to forward any other fic recs of this nature to me!
