:is awful: EDMUND, ILU OKAY. -- I almost choked on my gum laughing at this. It should be metaquoted.

I really want to read the Demon's Lexicon, but I've never gotten around to check if I can get it here, or if I need to buy it off amazon.

I wonder if someone else has thought this before. XD Half-innocent expression but it’s exactly what happened to Edmund and if someone accidentally yelled that at him…poor Ed! XD
Hee, that would be fun! I love metaquotes.

Check your PM!

Then I'll meta quote it, if you don't mind :)

Got to go, but I'll answer the PM later ;)

I followed you here off of metaquotes, and then was so super duper excited that you loved SRB's books. I've been an avid fan of hers since her fanfic days and was so excited when she came out with real life books. The books are amazing, she just has a way with words, especially dialog that I just love. I hope you love Demon's Covenant as much as Demon's Lexicon. Actually, if you loved the Jamie/Mae interactions, you might even like it more. Of course, it makes me sad for you that you have to wait with the rest of us for Demon's Surrender (written from Sin's point of view).

Hi, nice to see you here! I didn't really know SRB from her fanfic days but I've always really liked her blog entries. And I greatly admire her class in handling the transition from a Big Name Fan to a published author.

Yes, I like her writing style! It's SUCH a breath of fresh air from all the pretentious, angst-ridden prose that I sometimes encounter in YA. Though sometimes her metaphors are jarring and throw me out of the story, but maybe that's my personal preference. I agree with you, her dialogue is gold. Can't count how many times I've burst out laughing from it.

I'm about 2/3 of the way through Demon's Covenant and I think I like it even better than the first! I love all the interactions between both pairs of siblings! Alan's backstory is kind of ripping me to shreds, oh poor boy. :'( And oooh, Sin? I actually expected Jamie to be the third POV character but that will be interesting- I also think Sin is awesome.

Little Alan is such a tragedy, but I have a hard time feeling bad for Adult Alan. I'm sure by the time you reach the end, you'll be able to see why. He is a fairly good guy with some serious flaws.

I think that is some of the wonder of her writing, if you dislike, or even hate, a character as a person you can't really hate them. There is nobody in there that I wish would just mysteriously fall off a cliff and disappear forever.

I really didn’t expect to discover even more trauma in the boys’ past. Just, ouch.

He is a fairly good guy with some serious flaws.
He is, he is, and the end actually made me feel worse for him. This is what his past has warped him into: he deceives his loved ones, he’s values human kindness but doesn’t feel worthy of being on the receiving end of-I mean, who could stand living like that for so long? He did. And I find that really tragic, even if it’s his choice.

Hmmm…I may mull him- and the rest of the book- over in a later post.

Hello, I'm glad to see you here!

Between the terrible cover and the premise, I would never have picked it up if I didn't know/love her from LJ, but holy mother of God, am I glad I read it. I'm just lending it to EVERYONE.
Oh my goodness, yes. I remember seeing it around the bookstore and thinking, 'oh great, is this another mysterious supernatural hero who condescends to some helpless damsel?' And I think it's sad that people are probably passing this book up because they've given up on the genre. :(

I think that in the quest of some authors to make a story omgsokewl!111 for young adults, they have forgotten to make readers care, and I mean deeply care about a fictional character: about their well-being and their futures, about all the kinds of relationships that can form between them. What good is some hormone-driven 'passionate love story' when there's no heart in both characters? So what if some 'cool' character is witty and awesome, if I don't care what happens to him/her ( ... )

*giggles* You never fail to amuse me. <3 I always love seeing you post since I never get to see you much! ^^

Lmao. I love you. There totally needs to be a Narnia list with that on it. WE SHALL MAKE, YUS??

I will totally have to check out that HP read thing. I miss that fandom so much, it was my dearest love before I wanted to stab myself in the heart with a spork over 6 & 7. . . ah, memories. Maybe I shall reread and wax nostalgic. XD Then I can write weird AU drabbles and be happy. ^^

I've heard of the Cassandra Clare books but they haven't made their way to me yet. My friend raved about how good they are, but I admit I was skeptical. I've been reading up a storm in YA fiction and feeling unsatisfied for the most part, though Lament by Maggie Stiefvater was quite enjoyable and I'm hoping for promise in the sequel. NEED MOAR BOOKS. *reads like crazy*

This makes me want to reread the DiR for some reason. <.< .... *slips off to do so* And I've just been totally random. I can't help it. XD I love geeking out over books with you. * ( ... )

I love you, and you being random! It's great to know that someone appreciates my crazy thoughts. XD

There so needs to be a Narnia list...
Hmmm..."I will not tell the Tisroc that I am going to kick his ass (aka son Rabadash)" Ahaha, someone stop me!

As of today, that dude's on Deathly Hallows and he's on the edge of his seat and it's just FUN to watch someone go through that for the first time! Anyway that guy is loved by people from every walk of the fandom, so I'm sure you'll find something shiny in all his recaps. :p

I don't reeeally mean to scare anyone away from Cassandra Clare's books- just that from what I've seen of her dialogue and writing style, they aren't my cup of tea. And honestly, I'm still wary because of her notoriety in the HP Fandom. XD But if you end up liking them, I might give them a shot?
Have you read Sarah Rees Brennan's works, though? I have a feeling you'll like them because of the SPN similarity. I definitely had a sense of immense satisfaction when I finished both books.

Oooh, hey, the Leviathan ( ... )

^^ I definitely appreciate your crazy thoughts. It makes me feel that I'm in good company. : D

XD "I will not steal Jadis' wand and yell AVADA KEDAVRA!"

I am reading his HP and laughing my head off. XD I remember feeling so similarly when I read the first book. <3

Well, I'm just wary of a lot of YA books right now. There's been a huge surge in them, and a lot of the writing I've been finding in them is subpar, so that's why I'm wary of Clare. ^^ ; I haven't read Sarah Rees Brennan, but I do have her first book on my To Read list, so I'm glad to hear it has your approval!

OMG. REALLY?? I thought it would NEVER come. *rushes to find the LEviathan sequel at once*

Yay! I will have to post more about books too. ^^ I think you've inspired me to get back into the HP fandom a little, so maybe I will have at least some of that to rant about. And then it's almost time to reread DiR. : D
