Lots of Rain...And More Rain!

So, yeah, my state is fairing too well in this storm. A woman was swept away by flood waters and is presumed dead, numerous small towns and even the capital is pretty much flooded (or will be flooded) before Monday morning, and 43,000 people are without power. Explains why my internet is so sluggish ( Read more... )

Scary stuff, and not boring in the slightest!! Then again, as a Brit I'm trained to find the weather endlessly fascinating; so please keep us updated. Just to know you are well if nothing else.

Tea?

How can you find the weather "endlessly fascinating"? I thought you just got clouds and rain over there. ;)

I'm fine, and don't even have to leave my house today if I don't want to: no doctor's appointment (it was for Wednesday. Oops).

Oh, yes please. *hands over mug*

I am glad you are fairing well with all the chaos that is going on around you. I would be axious as well if I was in the path of Irene, (I am worried enough about my family I still can't get a hold of my Dad in Maryland.

If you do go to your appt be careful and drive safely.

HUGs

I heard your family survived it (when I was having a bad week) so that's good. As of right now, we're still in clean-up mode and I wish I had been closer to some of the harder-hit areas so I could go help clean. My paper this Sunday was full of stories of those who came to help, including cadets from a local military academy (Norwich University).

Oh, I stayed inside all day! Never for a minute did I think of going out in that rain! Ack!

Hey, I didn't know you were in Delaware, I'm up in Pa though when I look for the closest location for shopping things I often get instructed to head across the state line.

Actually, I live in Vermont, so a bit further northeast of you. Did you get hit by any of this? It's still an awful mess here.

Oh yeah ,we got hit. Not as bad as up north or in Philly proper. Thpugh we excessive rains a week before, it has been so bone dry through the summer we absorbed enough of the water to keep from breaking every flood record. We lost power for a few days where I am, my basement (top of a hill) flooded, but I've actually seen worse in this area.

Thanks! I'm doing fine up where I live but down south its a tad...worse. All I saw while walking to work this morning were a few limbs littering the sidewalk. Nothing big.

Just a whole lot of rain!
