Mission 19 [action - forward-dated to shortly after Seventh Heaven re-opens]

Jul 10, 2011 15:22

[Anyone going to Seventh Heaven for lunch today will get a nasty surprise.  Around noon, one of the tables is going to get uppercutted into the roof, as the young girl who just appeared beneath it growls with frustration.  She's stuck in the standard New Feather clothes, but she doesn't seem to notice or care.]

[Just gonna duck one of those flying tables before it knocks into him, thanks :| He's too busy fuming to notice that this kid looks sorta familiar.]

VOOOOI, brat! The hell do you think you're doing?!

[Somehow Squalo manages to keep an innocent face.] You were expecting something else?

Yes, I was expecting something else. How am I supposed to keep my friends safe with knitting needles?

Figured you'd be the best at knitting, you old lady. [She's figured out her earlier mistake of calling this person a lady by now, sure, but she knows it's something that will annoy him.]

[Except that he already knows the insult. Squalo ignores it for now and muses over whether Erza will remember any of this.]

Good question. VOI, you can keep their toes from freezing off with knitted socks!

[a shrug] Or you could drop the sissy shit and pick up swordsmanship. It's what I'd do, if I were you.

[Oh, she will. And she won't like Squalo calling her an old lady.]

Heh. I've already got a pretty good start when it comes to swordsmanship, and I won't be giving that up any time soon!

[Welp, good thing he likes to live dangerously...]

Except for knitting, don't forget. But I'm not interested in that. When did yo pick up the sword?

Well, it was... about four years ago. [That's bringing back some rather unfortunate memories, but she tries to repress them.] I didn't really have much of a choice at the time, but I decided to stick with it afterwards.

[Squalo frowns at the change in her attitude. He wasn't expecting that, but it doesn't stop him from asking.]

What for?

I needed to keep my friends safe, of course! I need the strength to do that, or else I wouldn't be much help to them in times of crisis.

((OoC: Sorry it took me so long to respond; I would have done it sooner, but I wasn't able to get Internet access until recently.))

You're determined. I'll give you that.

[ooc: No worries! And then it's my turn to apologize. First the week of LJ fail followed by muse fail...]

[Erza gives a big grin at that comment.] Of course! All mages of Fairy Tail are really determined people!

((OoC: That's okay; hopefully the latest chapters will help a bit in that regard.))

Are they now. [His lips quirk a bit in amusement. Young Erza is far less reserved than her counterpart.] And what is a Fairy Tail mage?

[ooc: Thanks, and they have XD]

A Fairy Tail mage is... uh... not quite sure how to put it into words... Well, we're all part of the same guild, of course, but we're like one big family! If any of us get in trouble, the rest'll do their best to help out!

Family, huh. I might know something like that. [Except far less sentimental...]

Why'd you join, kid?

What do you mean you "might"? Either you do or you don't, right?

...Rob said I should. He's... He was kinda like my grandpa. I figured anywhere that Rob liked to be must be a good place, and I was right!

[And being purposefully frustrating] Do I? What you mean and what I mean could be two different things.

Guess Rob was a smart guy.
