Just reposting a little commentfic that I wrote for the fabulous abyssinia_4077 and ultranos_fic, in the comments to their Meta for Red Sky: Ragnorak- Where Science Goes To Die. *g* I love Bill...and it's really kind of annoying that we don't get to see him being competent more often. I can't imagine that he'd have been with the program all this time if he weren't damned smart. And while I have spent a great deal of time trying to fix canon in fic, there are some episodes where you simply cannot make the plot resemble anything sensible without serious surgery!

Quick note to say that I loved this. Obviously, for the science fix-it, but also for... oh, Sam. I feel like this is what happens when you take someone significantly too smart for her own good and let her learn the finer points of dancing around rules, regulations, propriety and common sense from someone like Jack O'Neill.

And it is brilliant.
