I am in Chicago! And I seem to be on Internet/fandom hiatus! I didn't really *mean* for that to happen, but it has and it seems likely to continue through most of this week.

Mostly I have been sitting on my brother's couch drinking and playing video games. We beat Turtles in Time and Castle Crashers the first day and we've played some drunken ( Read more... )

I mean, they're alright. Just kind of overrated.

Jarrah is not going to be impressed, yo. I say this just to warn you.

Hope you continue enjoying yourself :) ♥

She won't be the first person I've said that to who has been unimpressed. /o\ My brother's roommate was also unimpressed. I can't help it! I don't actively dislike them or anything, and there are some of their songs I really like, but mostly I'm pretty neutral on them and everyone else seems to love them so much and I've just...never really understood what the big deal is? I know it is sacrilege and heresy, etc, etc.

And thank you, bb! I think a solid vacation really was what I needed - especially since the job hunt starts when I get back to DC. EEP.

I hope you're doing well! ♥ ♥

hooray for your awesome time \o/

i think aeryn/john is my one and only otp, in a sense that i absolutely, in any circumstances, for any reason can't imagine splitting them up. they're just... john-and-aeryn. will-destroy-universes-for-me. best love story ever.

Exactly. The text itself just ships them so hard, and their love story is so epic, how do you argue with that? Plus it's fairly out of character for either of them to even seriously consider anyone else.

I just love the wearing leather and being badass while shooting things and finishing each other's sentences and being SO IN LOVE. All of my buttons. All of them.

(i remembered another unbreakable otp and it would be, uh, aragorn/arwen. because eighty years of working for it. otherwise, nothing else comes even remotely close).

oh, oh, and they got together way before the ending and it made the story even better instead of drowning it. and they worked so, so very hard, that arguing with it is indeed impossible. and died for each other, and, uh, I'm very angry. - Me too. - We had good times. - I wouldn't change it for the world. You made me a better person. - That wasn't hard. I love you. So much. - I love you., i can totally make myself cry with them! and want to rewatch it YET AGAIN.

though my favorite times with them are still in the finale, when they're past all bullshit and all secrets and everything, and they just... dance together, and they're stronger than everybody and they literally overturned the world just because. oh them.

(fair enough. While I enjoy LOTR, I was never invested enough to have super strong opinions about any of the ships, but I can see it).

I still maintain that one of the most romantic lines in the whole series, in context, is "You are a plague, John Crichton, and you have ruined my life." But yes, God, you're making me tear up just thinking about it. I agree about the finale - John's great speech and Kalish says "he's crazy" and the look in Aeryn's eyes when she says "isn't it fun?" And...just, the way they're *partners* all along, gah. I love them so much.

I understand that I am clearly missing something. :(

I didn't end up seeing it in 3-D, though I really wish I had. Visually it was gorgeous anyway, but I bet it was so much better in 3-D.

I'm considering going again, just for the 3-D experience because I really think that's one worth seeing that way on the big screen.

I am so jealous! I love Chicago!

Also, am just now watching Farscape for the first time.

I'm halfway thru S2 and loving it.

I love it too! Though I like it best in the summer. ;) It's actually been fairly warm here, though.

I'm always a little jealous of people watching Farscape for the first time. It's one of those rare shows that just gets better as it goes on. I actually think the first half of the first season is pretty rocky, but once you get through that, it's just so epically good.

I have still never seen Farscape. The next time one of us visits the other (summer maybe?) you will have to introduce me to it.

Hey you! <3

Yes, yes, we will have to do that! Both see each other this summer and introduce you to Farscape! Because it's *so* good. The first half of the first season is pretty rocky for a number of reasons, but once you get through that they get their act together and everything gets amazing.
